Treat youself to a visit to Spain and stay at the Parador de Vielha.... https://www.parador.es/en/paradores/parador-de-vielha
Unless you're thinking about the end of August. We're going there then. Don't want you and Bounce dragging the tone down.
Ax-les-Thermes is a nice town on the French side, with a variety of hotels. On the way to Andorra. Hot springs to wash your feet in, too. And Bounce can gargle with it to get rid of the taste of the previous night's activities.
Bagnères-de-Luchon, stayed here several times, little town has all you need even a pastrie shop and spain is on your doorstep, if you feel like a day off the bikes you can visit the hot spa (if open) or hire a segway.

Now that’s right up my street.
Any specific hotel?
Hotel Astrolabia was an eye opener, which town was that?

Why not Google up the hotels in the town and chose the one YOU (and maybe, Bounce?) like the most? One second's work in Google turned up:

This is a bizarre way to chose where to go on holiday, based on nothing more than random hotels recommended by all but unknown bods on UKGSer, whose tastes and expectations (as we have seen in lots of threads) vary wildly. What happens if the next hotel recommended is nowhere near Bagnères-de-Luchon, will you just join the two dots by asking your GPS device to give you wiggly roads between the two hotels and that will be it?
Look at a map. Decide where along the several hundred miles 'of the French side' of the Pyrenees you'd like to go. Then pump the area into Michelin's website. This will pop-up with hotels. Chose the towns and hotel(s) you think you'd like and book them. It really is that easy in the 21st century. How would you do it if you'd never heard of UKGSer? Yes, it requires a bit of effort but you end up with something you have created. Will it be perfect? Who knows, you'll find out. Or would you like a pre-made trip, roads to ride and hotels chosen for you? Too blunt? Too unfriendly and not within the all embracing spirit of bikermate fraternal support, the rock of all things UKGSer? OK, let's look at something else.
Bagnères-de-Luchon is maybe not a bad spot to chose, as a very quick Google will show it is about halfway between the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts and it's 'on the French side'. Let's agree (at least for the purposes of this exercise) that it is perfect. Now go to the ADAC website and have a look at their map of the Pyrenees with all their suggested routes. Some idiot on UKGSer created stickies with links to the maps and even went as far as to carving them into gps files. https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showt...Pyrenees-and-back-again-ADAC-map-and-GPX-file
Then work out if you see Bagnères-de-Luchon as your base or if its to be just an overnight stop. Based on most bods' riding expectation in the mountains, I'd then draw out two circles about 75 to 250 miles around Bagnères-de-Luchon, which will give you (near enough) the extent of your riding. A 75 mile radius is good for a day out, as:
A. The circle contains roads that are - in the mountains at least - not straight.
B. 75 miles out is 75 miles back, near enough right for a day out, once you allow for the roads within the circle not being straight and that you'll maybe not be cracking off at first light.
The 250 mile radius arguably gives you the furthest extent if you want to ride away from Bagnères-de-Luchon to a new overnight stop.
Want to avoid the ball ache of looking at ADAC maps? Easy to do. Pump towns into Kurviger, it will give you twisty roads A to B to C and send them to your gps.
There you go.... A 'How to do it'.
PS If you want to cheat, you could have a look at this:
https://translate.google.com/transl...tards-cheminots-bordelais&prev=search&pto=aue
With a bit of imagination, a map and a touch of Google, you could recreate the bod's jaunt.
You'd maybe chose different hotels, as you are not a French railway worker and, not least, you don't need places that can cater for maybe 10 bikes. That being said, they are maybe OK? The route for sure looks OK, and the pictures at least look OK.How did you find that, biker mate? Easy, as I am lazy, I Googled: 'Bagnères-de-Luchon motards'. I was so lazy that I even copied the name of the town to save me typing it in.
It's amazing what turns up in under a second.... Here's a complete jaunt, which takes in Bagneres:

*Update*
Some hotels have been booked.
A draft scenic/adventurous route has been plotted.
Google maps was used.
Booking dot com was used.
Route & hotel reviews will be completed in the trip report.
...the point of the thread is to see what hotels people recommend....
To add to your list of towns, might I recommend, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Why? It has lots of hotels, as it is at the start of the pilgrims' trail, nicer in many ways than Oloron-Sainte-Marie, which is not far away, about 50 miles.
From Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Bagnères-de-Luchon is something over 200 miles, on the scenic roads, which would suit you, I guess? A little less to Robin's suggestion of Ax-les-Thermes.
Now you are starting to cooking on gas... The only vague problem is that Bounce (Lord knows how) has managed to book some hotels already.... If these are nowhere near Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port or Ax-les-Thermes or Bagnères-de-Luchon, you might as well start again, as you have wasted all our time
We’ve booked a night at the Parador de Vielha, perfect.
it's very nice around there - the road to Sort is a cracker, but not very "French"
Booked a spot near Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and Parador de Vielha......and a couple more; joined up the dots with scenic routes.....the gas is on
So do we take it that Nutty's quest for hotels is now over?
Looking that way....unless someone comes up with a really posh one that takes le fancy
OK, let's review the progress so far.
You now have Ax-les-Thermes (without a specific hotel recommendation) and Bagnères-de-Luchon (specific hotel recommendation unknown). As a list of towns, that is an encouraging start but for specific recommended hotels, it's feckin' useless. The two towns are about 115 miles apart on the main roads (epic, mate) and a bit further if you go 'scenic' and quite bit more again if you are in charge of the gps
Get hold of Robin and the other fellow, asking them to pull their fingers out and tell you the hotel they recommend or we'll be here all day.
Meanwhile, some other lunatic has recommended a place by the sea and another nutter some goat hut that appears to be shut. That leaves just the hotel Labia, which (given that you are a bit of a cnut *) will be very suitable. That hotel is in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, about 100 miles from Bagnères-de-Luchon. You now have three towns and the cnut hotel, with an option on a closed goat hut and for when you get lost, a bed by the sea.
* That is a joke, in case anyone gets mighty offended on behalf of Nutty. He's not 'a bit of' at all. In fact, quite the reverse.
