New cans for my R100

This has been in my mind for a while - just a tweak to the (naked and soft customisation) of the bike to make it look a little more stylish and maybe get a weight saving and a tad more performance (although as a typical Tosser I’ll need a little more than that for it to be noticeable!).

This is the sort of thing I have in mind. Googling has not thrown up any particular suppliers (on this side of the pond). Can I have the knowledge and experience of the collective please? :bow

Have a look at Side Rock Cycles. Pete there could provide advice on where to get some of bits. Otherwise his bikes look great, so could do bits or all for you maybe.

Mine are Keihin SS with the centre section and internals cut out and the end cone and shortened internals Tig welded back on.They use the original clamps and mounting points, and sound quite fruity.

Classic Bike Shop is not far from me at all so maybe a chance to see and handle them before buying.

Don't equate a louder noise with more performance.

If folk hear you coming and get out of the way, the performance you have can be used. Still, if performance is the aim, most Jap 4's will give a lot more than an airhead. I guess you knew that though and, I guess the OP knew that too. If you ride a nice bike, sometimes a little noise helps attract the attention of those who will admire it. If it's fruity but not too loud, the police may admire it too. :thumby:

What utter bollox. Only time I’ve heard a bike is when it’s gone past. Bit late to then get out of the way.

You need to get some hearing aids or turn your radio down old man. If you can't hear a bike with loud pipes how would you hear two tones?
