So I'm being really thick and its raining outside (so refusing to go outside to look!)... Excuse the stupidity!

I've bought a Fuzeblock from Nippy Normans which I'll install as soon as the rain lets up. What's the best source for the switched electric?

Switched live feed to the rear brake light switch.
As you sit on the bike it's just to the rear of the fuse box on RHS. Grey/Green IIRC

That's what I used. But a piggyback blade fuse is another option that means you are not cutting into the wiring.

I've used the instrument panel illumination light circuits to power relays for one or two auxiliary circuits. There's a connector block just behind/below the steering head which is easy to access with the tank off.

They're a pretty low priority in terms what is needed for the bike to be safe to ride, so if the lower rev-counter light circuit fails because the auxiliary circuit does something funny, I really won't worry about it.
