Day off today. Well, I say day off but there is always something to do and somewhere to go apart from the laundramat.
One place we always go to is Dredge number 4 which is utterly fascinating. This thing dredged for gold from the early part of the century to around 1960 with only one alteration which is a staggering feat. All the info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dredge_No._4.
Working in the dredge must have been hell on earth because of the noise but the thing pulled up millions and millions of $$ of gold in it's time.
I've been to this 5 or 6 times and it still fascinates me and if you are in the area, you have to visit it
