The unit is physically larger than the XT, so anyone with the Touratech mount is going to find it an even more expensive swap!
The expensive black bit of plastic Garmin calls the bike mount has a different part number as well compared to the "old" XT.

Also interesting they are offering as a bundle with "Group Ride". I reckon this may kill Cardo/Sena "MESH"? It appears to use VHF so the range will be much longer than current inter-bike intercoms (my mates use MESH2, but this is another level!). Plus I understand you can see your mates on the map as well so no one gets separated from the group. Fab!

Free is just like "complementary" when included in adverts etc
At over a $1,000 with the comms package I suspect Cardo & Sena won’t be worried yet, once the price drops in a few years who knows.

With the XT when you select "fastest" it means fastest roads, not the fastest route. If you send a route from BaseCamp which is an A to B to C and you go off the route, then the POS keeps on trying to take you back to where you went off route, even if the way you're going is faster.
I had an XT for a couple of years and after its struggles to deal with going off A to B to C routes last summer, I bought a 396 which whilst not perfect, it at least manages to do sensible routing 99% of the time.

Garmin sat navs ? How very yesterday !!!!
I’ve just sent back a brand new TomTom 550 because of a software issue, a known issue, apparently they have been aware of it for the last 12 months yet they do nothing about it.
Is there such a thing as the perfect sat nav ?
