Paul- I know you're excited about coming on the trip in April but I thought I'd better come clean about how rubbish Morocco actually is...it's only fair
These are all pics from one single trip, in November '08- not a collection of the worst ones, this is how awful it is from just one trip!!

Firstly, the roads.....you ought to see the condition of them!!
There's gravel on the corners, which obviously makes them really unpleasant to ride
There are hardly any roads that are suitable for a motorcycle- stones, potholes, rough bits - not something that anyone in their right mind would want to ride
When you do find some reasonable tarmac, I'm afraid it's just as bad....long, straight and dead boring, I can only apologise in advance mate
Unfortunately, a lot of the roads you'll have to suffer are in really muddy places- in fact, that's all you can see for miles, boring, nasty, unnatractive mud with no redeeming eatures whatsoever.......
They're crap at health and safety as well....it's horrendous!!!! Roads with no barriers on both sides, no white lines, no signage and so on...they let you ride anywhere, willy nilly- look at Timolgra here, plainly not enjoying himself because of the utter lack of the safety feature we all know and love so dearly
Whilst I'm talking about the roads, I'd better mention the abysmal traffic- nose to tail jams, you can barely move for all the cars and bikes following each other at walking pace
If you're lucky enough to find an empty road, forget it- they don't go anywhere exciting at all.......just boring dead ends
There are many other hazards on the road as well, which make it barely worth bothering about.
Traffic going the wrong way down clearly marked one way systems with scant regard for others for example
Which isn't the end of the world because frankly, there's nothing to look at on the bloody roads anyway....you could fall asleep it's so featureless
No conveniences either........you have to bloody well ride all the way to the top of a mountain to find a cafe!
Did I mention the boredom of such featureless scenery??
I'm afraid there are puddles as well, so there's a pretty good chance you'll end up uncomfortable and miserable with wet feet
Or even worse!!!
No bloody fun at all!!
Very often, there aren't any roads at all....just none.
This is when it gets to be no fun whatsoever I'm afraid
It's hard, not having a straight line to follow
And the sand gets up yer bum, in your ears and inbetween your toasy woasies too
Conditions are treacherous and any areas with no roads at all should be avoided at all costs
There's not even any public loos- you have to have a casual squat at the side of the road and hope nobody notices!!!
It's one of the worst things about Morocco ya know....the intense, unremitting heat- oh when will it end!!!
Two unhappy disgruntled customers walking home in disgust
Crime is rife in Morocco- We can usually arrange alternative transport should your motorcycle be stolen though
Vandalism is rife as well...here you can see the hideous results of yob culture and the boredom of the Moroccan youth- worse than graffiti in the UK, in Morocco they paint whole areas!! **oh the inhumanity!!**
As you can see, it makes the area most unnatractive
And after dark, it turns into a grim urban wasteland of burnt out cars, derelict buildings and winos roaming the streets
I suppose we ought to be grateful for one thing- nightime hides the awful smog problem they have in Morocco- you can clearly see dense clouds of pollution here in the foreground, about 40 miles away from where the photo was taken!!
Most of the Smog originates from Marrakech- the centre of all evil, it's a million miles away from anything interesting or scenic, just stuck out on its own in a dustbowl
Have I mentioned the atrocious food yet???
Stale and unhealthy for you, unpleasant tasting and anything but fresh!
The hotels are basic and boring, no facilities or anything like that
They're not very pleasant places to be at all.....quite unnapealing in fact
Most lack colour or any sort of vibrancy and are just dry, dusty godforsaken holes lacking any comforts
In some, the local birds will eye you up disdainfully
We have a policy on our trips....NO FUN ALLOWED!!! Which I'm sure you'll adhere to.....
You won't find any friendly people on the trip either I'm afraid
Sometimes it can get a bit depressing
And it's downhill from then on
I'm afraid the whole place is falling apart
Did I mention that the scenery is crap??
I wouldn't bother bringing your camera mate
'cos there's bugger all to see or take pics of
So there we have it Paul.....I'm sorry if you've been misled- I know some people seem to like the place, but it hardly seems worth going to really does it
I'll see you in April
PS Many thanks to 'The boy David' and Tony Johnson for use of their pics
