Honour the Hero Tom Gaden

Well I think this morning Tom Gadens family will be very proud of him and I'm sure amazed at the support the motorcycling community showed them.
We turned up expecting to see about 50 or so bikes and it was clear very quickly that bikers had come from far and wide. I would guess 400 or so rode the one mile from the meeting point to park either side of the main street 10 minutes before the funeral passed through. Many GS riders and just a few I knew from as far away as Plymouth.

The service was relayed out of the church on loud speaker and at the end after the last post had sounded and soldiers from his unit fired a salute his coffin came from the church with the following music filling the streets.

A very moving moment to see the soldiers, heads down with the music playing.

Listen and heres some snaps.

The photos say it all a fitting tribute good to see so many diffrent groups of motorcyclist coming together.

What an amazing turnout for Tom, I think it caught the organisers by surprise!
It brought a lump to my thoat when they started playing Brothers in Arms.
RIP Tom:rose

Yes, many people in the street seemed to have a tear in their eye and I thought the organisers / police etc did a great job in closing the roads and making it run so smoothly.

Jim,

Thanks for posting this.

I've just seen the coverage on the local news, very touching.

FANTASTIC Support from the biking community,I'm sure the family will have taken Great Solace from the turn out.

Our thought's and Prayer's are with the family
