Helloo

Did any one tried Pelican cases like 1430 or 1440 as a pannier for R100 gs?

Looks like a very solid solution, without sharp corners and much cheaper than the Aluminium solutions. 100% water and dust proof. Good looking too….

they are only as waterproof as the holes you will drill into them to fit to any rails you have:augie

yes i have used a peli case, small one though to carry mobile phone and gps, and its very very strong, so i would assume the larger ones are just:aidan as good.

there are lots of case makers like peli, and much cheaper for the larger sizes, look for army supplies, airport security cases etc etc

I had thought of doing something similar.

What do you plan to use for a rack / attachment?

It would be great if you could post some pics of the finished project.

I have already bought a symetrical Nolan rack at £180 inc delivery. Also using a Fuel exhaust at £170 as the rack doesnt fit a standard exhaust.
I better not continue counting as I am scaring myself!

I have not decided how they will attach as yet. It depends on how thick the case skin is... and if it is solid or cavity.

Dont know if this is gona work, but here it goes...
Anyway...
DuraTool waterproof boxes x 2 £86
Holan Symetrical Frame £180
18mm Hydraulic Hose Clamps x 8 £10
SS hex bolts £2
Still to receive my 2 x holdalls £23, which are a perfect fit 500 x 32 x 18 (case internal 500 x 33 x 18) ... sweet!
Stick em all together and this is what you get!
990mm and 30L per side...

Splutter!! What!! Good God! What are those pictures doing in here? Things are never going to be the same again. Somebody wake Kenny and get him to fling those pictures out. Whatever next.
It's bad enough that there's a Welshman posting with out pictures of a faux GS appearing :rob

hehehe... I was trying to make sense of you post, and only just realised!
I am in the Airhead forum....Doh!
I should have put it in one of the pannier threads...

Are they the Adventure Spec crash bars? I wondered if they'd fit with the BMW Enduro bash plate. I have the Giv bars but would like some higher up. I like the wild@heart ones but they're expensive and shipping is an expensive PITA. But they're very similar to these. :thumb

Hi can you please tell me where you got the hose clamps from? I can only find them for £5 each! Thank you.

I've seen these Peli Cases before mounted on Airheads. Browse through these pics taken at an HU Meeting a few years ago. The Airhead sidecar outfit was fitted with a Peli 1620 case, far too big for a solo but excellent for a sidecar outfit, and fitted using those hydraulic pipe clamps and a sheet of Dural. No need for expensive racks. The owner told me he'd been given the case free, which was a bonus for him as they aren't cheap.
