I'm starting to look forward to this, any other inmates heading
there? Play in the dirt (with someone else picking up the tab
for oops! moments), with helpful tips from Mr S Pavey & crew
& then give some money to charity, what is not to like?

Cheers

Glad to see some interest on the forum as well as that we have in the real world. I've just been helping out with some of the organisation but I have to say that I'm impressed that a dealership will stick its neck out like this to offer something to its customers and others with no immediate prospect of financial reward for promoting and organising this.

As Simon Pavey said to me at one point - "The most important thing is that people have a good time on the day" - and that's the ethos of the whole event. Admission to the circuit is free to the public and that includes the large number of bands that are playing.

I hope that we'll see a lot of you guys there during the course of the weekend and that those of you who participate in either the Off Road School event and / or the Trackday with the added bonus of laps on an S1000RR, have a great time. Those folks who don't want to participate on track or the dirt will be able to take test rides courtesy of the BMW Motorrad demo fleet.

Hey Schtum

Glad to hear it is generating interest in the real world,
hopefully it will be a good/fun weekend, +1 on the dealership
sticking it's neck out. I've always wanted to try the ORS but
haven't had the chance (so far), met Mr Pavey at the Scottish
bike show a couple of years ago and he came across has a
good 'un seemed happy to chat & answer questions (which
I'm sure he'd been asked 1,000 times), also impressed/surprised
he is coming considering it is the DawnToDusk weekend.

Now a go on a S1000RR on track ya see that is going to go horrible
wrong for me either:

option a: me & bike in the scenery, asking to be taken to hospital/
workshop and wondering why my talent ran out so quickly.
or
option b: love it and have to buy one.

neither option I can afford :tears

See ya there :thumb
Cheers

Not with Duffus, Rymer or Morrison or possibly somebody more "current" to show you the way around Knockhill.

There are 4 of us booked for both days, have been since it was first decided.Looking forward to it.
One question do you have to have either full leathers or a two piece zipped together for the track ? i have leathers but they don,t zip together.

Good stuff - see you there.

Yes, the usual Knockhill trackday rules apply. At the least, your leathers need to have a full zip. If you're stuck, I know a lady in Fife who does leather repairs and would, I'm sure put a zip in them for a very reasonable price.

There will be a Rider's Welcome Pack coming out soon that contains all the necessary information.

If it's a problem Knockhill have rental gear. Cost you but way less than a new set of kit.

I've booked to do offroad on the Saturday. If I can still walk on Sunday I might pop up for a shot on the demo bikes.

Schtum - didn't realise Alan had roped in another retired "helper" ;)

A.

Which one would you rather have show you the way round Knockhill, Ronnie...?

Ian. And I'd also prefer gettin lift home from him than Alan :thumb2

PS I should have read the poster and link before I asked the Q :beerjug:

Just to let folks know that with a month to go, there are still some places available on both the track day / S1000R event and the Off Road School Extreme Challenge.

I spoke to Simon Pavey again today and I was impressed by his committment to making sure that participants on the Off Road Challenge should have a great time.

Up to date information can be found here....
