I'm Clutchless !!!

Out enjoying a spin in the cotswolds at the weekend and suddenly me clutch lever seemed to require less and less input from myself !
Eventually I had to pump it vigourously to enable gear changes at all resulting in a very interesting ride home !
I am unable to use the bike (1150 GS ) now as I cant ride it clutchless without endangering myself !
I have checked the reservoir and it's full,no leaks anywhere that I can see (of course the reservoir would'nt be full if I had a leak ! so to speak ! )
Can anyone offer help/advice ? bearing in mind that I'm no technical wizard.

Sounds a lot like me 2 weeks ago.

Leaking corroded stupid Al washer on top of cylinder. Totally inaccessable - bike right apart. Huge job, took 1/2 a day

had the same fault.

Bled the system through with new fluid to limp home, not that it helped much- made for interesting filtering techniques at junctions ;)

Following excellent advice from Steptoe :thumb2 i fitted new slave cylinder and also new 1150 GSA braided clutch hose (the original was showing signs of rust at the cylinder end). Whole job took about 1 1/2 hours including cutting an allen key to size to fit in the tiny gap above the gearbox.

now works a treat :)

Thanks for the advice folks,took the Bull by the Horns and rode it to Pidcocks,diagnosis- as you say,slave cylinder ! Least I know I'm not being took for a T***.

Sorry to make my problem yours, but I also need some help on my bike's clutch.:(
The lever requires a lot of effort to pull in, after a while I get arm-pump from the strain.
The clutch does not slip at all, so at least I can assume the clutch-plate and stuff is still fine.
Can it be the master cylinder?

Or what else?

I'm leaving on a 5000km trip to Botswana in a week's time, so all haste is needed.
