HP2 Adventure

For my coming Icelandtrip I swapped my 1200gsa for a 1200hp2:

HPN tank and TT Zega panniers

My old TT VP45 Tankbag for the 11xxgs fists quite good on the Hpn tank

No pic yet of the Technoflex suspension upgrade...
 
This was my original attempt currently testing the HPN tank with saddle bags and mark 6.7 rear rack. Managed to knacker the fork seals yesterday resulting in oil pouring out and a very interesting ride home.

Yours looks much more professional damnit...

Do you think you'll be able to load it up like a GS??? I was thinking the rear frame looked a bit lightweight on the HP2?

Looks very good though sort of workman like but slim(ish):thumb

Pannierframe reinforces the original frame, so I should be able to get some weight loaded on it. The panniers itself have a max load of 10kg according to Touratech.
Leaving friday, so in the next few weeks it will be clear how the Hp2 holds loaded with some camping/hiking gear on bad roads...

Technoflex used my Hp2 to devellop some heavier springs and rearshock. Got the bike back yesterday evening, and must say it IS a different bike! Especcially the front isn't diving
as extreme as original when breaking with a bit more weight and fuel on board...

thanks! If the weather / river / dirtraod Gods help a bit, I guess some nice picccies will be possible...

As apposed to a 1150ADV where you take the luggage of it and end up with a heavy, slow & outdated road bike:nenau

Had a 1200gsa and after a year and 32k, I still wasn't happy with it.
Offroad (sand) isn't very funny because of the weight +19" wheel,
and on rocky/bumpy surface the suspension isn't very good.
As I'm planning my hollidays more and more to places where I'll encounter
these conditions, it was time to try something different;
instead of trying to make a 1200gsa more offroadcapable, I'm now trying to make aHp2 more travelready.

1150s weren't part of this comparison although Zwerver did very well on his previous Icelanic trip:augie

Ah:rolleyes: no offence taken:nono I thought i'd add a little balance to your argument. Most people know the GS range are dual purpose bikes, but by their very nature are great road bikes and sort of alright on rough roads, and pretty crap at real off road, the HP2 just leans a little further to the off road end of the scale, then again its not a GS is it:nenau
