Offroad ride photos and videos from the Kelso BMF 2007

First off i'd like to Thank Tim,Tina ,Fritz,Bev,Rich and Chris for coming out on my ride and for making it a special day out.I'd recced part of the route last weekend but i couldn't recce one certain section but i'd been over it on the GSA with tourances on earlier in the year so i wasn't worried

Here's a few pics.
Start of the track and we encountered our first taste of mud.

Rich came threw next and had a slight "moment"which i didn't catch on camera but i think Tim might have.

Next section was a little slippy ask Bev

Due to the last few weeks of rain an easy trail has turned into a hard one.

Then it was on to a what i thought would be a nice little ford

Earlier on in the year it was a little splash.


Now was a different matter though here's a video.

By now we were down to 4 Tim,Tina,Fritz and myself.

By now we were really struggling to get any traction.
TKC's and mud don't work.


So it was feet down and paddle like hell.




And when that doesn't work push



It gets really embarrassing when your partner has to push you up the hill
Isn't that right Tim.


But we battled on and made it to the end.
So we headed off to the coast stopping for a smoke break on the way.

After mud sand was our next test of will.
Great views down the beach.

Nice pics Forry - you forgot to mention you didnb't get back to the camp site untill 10 pm...... I really missed out on that run, hopefully next time if I can get back off hols in time for Skye

She didn't but we met the lovely Mrs Forrester and were assured there'll be one for Achill

Ma Forry went playing bowls instead Almost caused the late cancellation of the event I heard. A summit was held and a decision was taken to communicate that this wouldn't be allowed to happen again

Madmountainman had the first hiccup of the day, unfortunately i was a bit slow with the camera


so tried something more his size after Bev had a little moment

Oh Fritz, what's going on here...you can see Forry laughing ...again


Then the flippin hill on Dere Street, it didn't look much but it took an hour to get all our bikes around half a mile as there was just no grip.

Here Fritz heads back out of the undergrowth


Fritz rides around South America and says "I've never ridden anything so hard as that fe****g, ba888ng slippy t*8ind mud"


Tina embarasses us all by flying up on her TTR and coming back down to help


We finally got to the top, you saw Forry's pic of Fritz's rear tyre, this was my Tkc showing it's limitations in sticky mud

We stop for fuel at the only pumps suitable for our ageing, old type GSs...naturally there weren't any 12's with us


last year we saw a couple on a yellow GS who had just been shagging in the field here....was it you?


Forry's bike...the 2nd best in the country


Later we got to the coast and had a fantastic ride through the sand and grassy dunes.


We stop for a breather/fag and take in the view but there's still a long way to go.

Back to Berwick on Tweed for a fish supper....if you think you can't understand Forry's accent you should try understanding the Polish girl in the chippie with her Berwick twang


Then a fantastic track in the Lammermuir Hills to end the day before riding back to Kelso, we were overlooking the Firth of Forth to the left of this photo


We arrived back at Kelso at 10pm, knackered, after 12 hours and over 220 miles of fantastic riding where the likes of Stumpy and Ronno forced us to drink their much welcome malt whiskys.

Great photos but you forgot to take one of the Polish girl?
Forry better take his camara when he goes to get his tea tonight.

OK the inevitable question - where woz all that then? I know the lammermuirs track but none of the others apart from Dere st. Looks like they are all well ridden - are they 'legal' and are you able to point us in the right direction?

Great post and Photos guys looks like good fun........to watch. The TTR looked a bit more manageable in those conditions

how the ferk you ride GS's through all that knowing how heavy/big and tall they are .i did it years ago on suzuki ts's/honda xl's but on a GS
