Any one got the new Master V Suit?

I have whittled the choice of suit down to two, the new Hein Gericke master V suit, or the tw*t suit:augie Has anyone got one of the Master V suits? And could you give any feed back? I have tried but can't find any reviews :nenau and £850 is a lot to fork out! Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers
 
I bought one a Master V in January and it has been everything that I could've wanted, apart from a couple of niggles.
1) The connecting zip on the trousers started to come apart, but I took it back to the shop and they replaced the trousers no probs (HG Cheltenham:thumb2)
2) I'm waiting for the collar to soften and wear in, as it rubs the front of my neck....probably my fault for having a fat neck:D

The suit is waterproof and warm. The storm collar is really effective and the fit of the jacket and trousers is good enough to prevent 'flapping'.
So it's been good in the winter weather. Hopefully I'll be able to check out the 'breathability' of the suit during the forthcoming scorching British summer weather:rolleyes:

Not cheap, but I had a 10% off voucher from the NEC and I used the interest free credit agreement (free money? yes please) and I reckon that with the 5 year waterproofness and 2 year manufacturer's garauntee it's not a bad deal.
 
I have been a big fan of the HG Cruise suit, but was due a change. I was on the verge of buying the MasterV suit, but,last week I went for a Rukka Pro jacket and Unit trousers instead. Better fit, but not the fancy laminate XCR type goretex.
(Their equivalent Aramax suit was coming in at arount £1400:mad:)
Rukka kit feels more like a pair of jeans, and the leg armour is in the correct place........ worked better for me!
 
I bought the Master V suit via the net

But I found that I couldn't wear it on a sportsbike,as the jacket is quite stiff and the collar would ride up when leant forward on clip-on bars.

I sent it back and replaced it with the HG PSX-TR GTX jacket and pants which has the sportsbike fit but with Goretex.


But the Master V kit is fine on a sit up bike like GSs etc.

I was looking to buy Rukka, but the only trousers they make that fit me are the Allroad. Trouble is they have a removable waterproof/thermal liner, so you can only have water proofing with thermal liner. In last summer's weather I would have wanted water proofing and breathability without the thermal liner; which ruled out the Allroads.
I tried on the Master V and found that it fitted great. The breathability is better than any other I've known, feeling comfortable in sub zero rides and then sitting in a centrally heated house comfortably. It hasn't been tested in heavy rain or sunny weather yet.
I bought some Helly Hanson base layer clothing, as recommended by Gore-Tex, and I think that helps to keep it all comfortable and dry.
 
I have the trousers and I'm more than happy with the fit and comfort of them....Superb!

The only 'niggle' I have found is there is only one pocket in them :confused:
 
RiDE reviewed the Master V along with a load of other jackets recently (either this or last month)

Have you looked at the Halvarssons Safety Jacket? It comes with a summer and a winter outer for about the same or less than a HG Master V.

If you can't find a copy of RiDE I'll try and get off my arse and re-subscribe then PM you a scan of the article.

I think the Aerostich came second, as another aside......
 
I've had my Master V for a few years now.... warm, waterproof and comfortable.
Excellent.

Could be a bit better ventilated for warm weather riding as it gets a bit hot at times.... that would be my only criticism.
 
We'll I was so impressed with the trousers I've only gone and bought the jacket :blast But oh it does fit well.

Will try to do a bit of a report after I've tested it over the coming months.

One thing tho. Does anyone know if it will be comfortable enough in Morocco? I'm heading over there in late may early June.
 
I got the master v start of this year, i seriously reccomend it. i have been caught out in some rotten weather and it's performance has exceeded my expectations.

the only slight niggles i have had with the jacket are the zips on the arms getting caught up "but thats mostly my fault, being that im of the very impatiant catagory of person". Could use some vents for the hot weather as well, well worth £850.00 i paid for it.
 
I bought a Master V suit when it came out. It leaked. I had that exchanged. That one leaked too.

Bought BMW kit. Didn't leak.
 
I got a pair of master v trousers off fleabay, still waiting for the liner (forgot it), they've been down the road though but been "professionally" repaired (patches sewn on). They seem comfortable enough and not bad even without the liner, could do with an extra inch or two on the leg length though.

Does anyone have a duff (damaged etc) pair that they would be prepared to part with the zip-off bib from (prepared to pay a reasonable price), as the bib was the donor for the patches. I've found them a bit loose on the waist, I think HG's inches have increased a bit, or mine have shrunk :) as the last 54 I got was fairly snug.

If you can't get hold of the actual bib thingy just get a good pair of heavy duty braces ;)

personally my Master V trousers are just right with the zip on braces/bib thing, but would be a bit loose without... the nice thing is that there's no pressure on your waist :augie
 
Had one about a year ago.
It was waterproof and kept me dry but.

The outer retained water so was hard to dryout for the next day.

decided to get BMW over suit to keep the Master V dry. - then thought this is daft having a £850 suit with a £100 oversuit.

So ditched the Master V and used the oversuit to cover my leathers.

However later on bought a Rukka which is totally waterproof and remains dry.

The Master V has Goretex XCR bonded to the outer layer of the jacket- water doesn't soak in, it just runs off :confused: Well mine does anyway :rob

Interesting as mine was a right pain and did seem to retain water - maybe mine was faulty

thats 100% correct mate. the water simply beads off as it cannot be absorbed. :thumb
 
MASTER V

I have just purchased a Master V suit. It is very comfortable and an excellent fit. I can't comment on it's waterproofing or performance as I have not had a chance to wear it outside yet (on nights !). But I was told that the water will bead as long as you keep topping up with the spray on or machine Nikwax products. :nenau
