I used the steering lock on my `new` 1100gs a couple of times over the weekend. On both occasions it took a lot of fiddling to unlock it again and on the second occasion I thought I might actually be stranded. Am I doing something wrong or is my lock a bit iffy? Can someone enlighten me on the correct procedure please?

Take out the ignition lock barrel and lubricate it.

I'll send you a PM on how to remove it .

Thanks. Would it do any good just to insert the fine nozzle and spray WD40 into it?:toungincheek

Removed the barrel and lubed it tonight, but it still sticks in the lock position and lock/light position. I think I will have to dust off the disc lock!

Naaa, too much effort. Its under warranty and the bike ois due a 12000 service so i asked dealer to take care of it...
