Hi all when I replaced the steering head bearing on my 1100 and went to replace the bolt the threads were very tight when screwing the bolt in..no threadlock on the threads ..is there a way to clean up the threads in the frame or a suitable remedy to fix ..Ive ordered a new steering bolt , and a new bearing ..again !!! does anyone know the thread size and could I use a tap/die to recut or clean up the threads or use a longer bolt threaded in from the bottom and screwed all the way to the top to try and save the threads ...
