As some of you peeps know. I’ve been beta testing a revised Accelerator for the last 4 weeks.
It’s basically the same as the current one, but with a remote Brass-tipped air temperature sensor, with greater temperature range compensation.
This enables it to be positioned away from the engines heat. However, this may only really be useful if you are riding at low speed in very high ambient temperatures (i.e. not in the UK).

Comparing the current module with the new one. Well, after 500miles of testing the new one. It performed very much the same as the current module, with the exception of slightly better fuel consumption (averaging around 46 – 48mpg).

Both products give improved fuelling at low revs and hard acceleration.
e.g. my bike pulls cleanly from 28mph in 6th gear. Or from 10mph in 3rd gear.

Roll-on acceleration from 100mph in 6th is stunning (with either module version). Easily leaving a 2010 GSA disappearing backwards in my mirrors.

So….
Question: I have already invested in the current accelerator, should I now up-grade to the new version?
Answer: No, I don’t think so. The performance/economy gains are nominal. However, the new version might give a more consistent effect when used in temperature extremes (say below -0c or above +30c).

BTW, I also tested the new version on a 2010 GSA, but the fuelling on the new bike seems pretty spot-on, so I couldn’t really perceive much difference or benefit.

Nice one!! Rather than buy the upgrade, I'll buy 3/4 of a tank of fuel for the GSA!!

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my (MK1?) module ... ordered a few days ago :)

2010 GSA

Good report....

So in conclusion it's not really worth getting one for a 2010 GSA...nice one Yonkyo, that's saved me £30!!!! :beerjug:

I concur Balders!! i've put one on my 2010 as i think you know, but the motor is soooo much smoother than the inferior single cam motors ( :P ) that you're probably better off putting your money towards something else :thumb

At todays prices thats about half a tank of the good ol 95 juice, just heard on news it will be £1.35 in a couple of months......:beerjug:

See you've ordered a Slime inflator, good bit of kit, me got one too!:thumb

... yep - looks well made. Feels really heavy and solid. :thumb

hi,

i am interested in the advanced module because during summer temperatures of 30 / 35C or higher are common, but wouldnt the normal module do the same? I am guessing the resistance is the same or does the new vervion contain a thermal resistor as its a remote sensor?

just waiting for some info and ill send you my order.

thanks

Just fitted mine as it arrived in the post this morning:) well made and 5 minutes to fit :thumb

Module

been toying with idea for a while......now gone and ordered one. i hope it does what it says on the tin!

Ordered mine last week. Will probably take a little longer to get here this side of the pond. Hope it swims fast!!

As you don't need it on your nice new smooth 2010 GS :)would you consider selling it (the device that is) to me?:augie:bounce1

Hi Rob

Both Modules do exactly the same job and both work in all temperature ranges i.e. -30c to +80c. The only difference is the extended version has the Temp. sensor located at the end of the extended cable, so that it can be positioned away from the engines heat. However, the standard version is located away from the engine anyway.

Please note: I am not the manufacturer of this product or associated with the vendor in any way.
I’m just one of the geezers testing it on behalf of the vendor.

Cheers

Brian

Ummmmmmmm..... well now ......... Errrrrrrrr, ........ (suck teeth), Nah .... now its on I'll leave it on, but thank you for the offer!! :)

The Accelerator Module has now gone the same route as the Booster Plug did years ago with an external temperature sensor. Whats happening?
