Hi guys
after consulting this forum I bought the quest+mount here http://www.gpsw.co.uk/details/prod2504.html

Now I've got a few stupid quests for you.
First, are the speed cameras included in the maps?
Second, it says it's waterproof....Is it really? I mean, doesn't it need some kind of clear plastic cover to be 100% safe? If yes where do I get it?
Third I don't think it comes with an earphone...has it got a normal plug i.e. can I use a normal earphone? If not, where can I get the tailored one?

Thanks a lot!!!

Hello,
I have a Quest. It seems waterproof through my one month of use. You have to either doctor the car piece that it came with, or order the motorcycle cradle with earplug. They were behind schedule in release, but I received mine this week and it works great. I am travelling through Europe and will be in England in the next few weeks. I will be at Horizons Unlimited rally, too, in case you are there. Drop me a line if you like, and I can meet up with you to show you my cradle.

Speed camera maps?? Would love to know if someone has such a map?

Cheers,
Jim

It's submersible to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

So it says on page 57 of the manual.

I've ridden in pouring rain for 5 hours with it mounted above the left handgrip and had no problems with it.

Now we all know the combination number of Whatton's tankbag!

Thanks folks...Whatton you clamped the mount on the wing mirror didn't you? Any reason for that? I was thinking of using the horizontal crossbar...using http://www.gpsw.co.uk/details/prod2643.html
Also why on the left-hand side?

About speedcameras, I understand that tomtom comes with speedcameras free update

It's on the mirror bracket as it raises the height of the unit without using a longer Ram arm. Also the Otterbox is attached to the cross bar and leaves no room for a Ram bracket. It's on the left so I can easily reach it with my left hand, my right hands usually busy with the throttle :)

Whatton - what do you think of the size of the screen on the Quest. Any difficulty in seeing the directions and following them?

Ten points to whoever posts the first piccy of their Quest in a bowl of water :D

On your marks...get set...........

Fishy was a lucky strike. He's a newby to the boys tank. £6 well spent :)

did you check to see if you had the receipt and then double check the manual to be sure it could be submerged?
what you may have missed in the manual is that the test was done in salt water which is denser, you can only put a quest 10 cm in fresh water before it leaks:D
