The video of the trip previously documented here: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62622

Morocco is a brilliant place to go biking--both roads and tracks--and I'm doing a session at the Horizons Unlimited meeting in June entitled "Morocco: Safe, Exciting and Inexpensive". As a teaser for the talk I'll be showing some snatches of the video we took on our Jan 2006 trip. The value of the video is that the vast majority of it was filmed on-bike (riding one-handed) showing typical roads and tracks from the rider's viewpoint. If you are considering a bike trip to Morocco this is an invaluable resource to get an appreciation of the conditions you are likely to encounter on the journey.

You can see an preview clip of the video (18 MB, 1 minute long). Please right click 'here' and 'save target as' to your machine, then run from there.

To purchase a DVD, please send £8 by PayPal ( https://www.paypal.com/uk/) to [email protected]

The video is split into 6 chapters.

- Lisbon and Portugal
- Towards Er Raqchidia
- Todra, Roses and M5
- Anti-Atlas
- Tan Tan Plage
- Middle and High Atlas

LISBON AND PORTUGAL
A brief glimpse of the Dakar Rally scrutineering in Lisbon, then footage riding alongside BMW's 'Race to Dakar' team of Simon Pavey, Charley Boorman and Matt Hall. Video of bike competitors on two of the special stages in Portugal.

TOWARDS ER RACHIDIA
An ill-advised short cut to get to the end of the special stage on day 3 of the rally saw us on tracks across rocky terrain. We arrived late, but still in time to experience the earth-shaking trucks. We set off on day 4 before dawn to intercept the start of the bikes on the special stage and the footage includes Nick Plumb and Si Pavey.

TODRA, ROSES AND M5 PISTE
Footage shot coming down the Gorge of the Todra, then offroad pistes in the beautiful Valley of the Roses. We then tackled the M5 piste running south from Tinerhir. And yes, the video was shot riding one-handed offroad!

ANTI-ATLAS
The Anti Atlas and the Middle Atlas are my favourites. Beautiful biking roads, fabulous scenary, hardly any traffic.

TAN TAN PLAGE
The scenary further south would be boring if it wasn't for the coast line. Tan Tan Plage was a great place to unwind in the sun.

MIDDLE AND HIGH ATLAS
Ascending into the snow to cross the Tizi n'Test pass to Marrakech, then a visit to the Cascade d'Ouzoud. Finally riding back through the Middle Atlas on our way north.

Background music includes William Orbit, Green Day, Alan Bown!, Blues Brothers, Peter Gabriel, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby Stills and Nash, Nirvana, Love and Keith Richard.

I bought note bought a VIDEIO from Tim Cullis on Saturday, so theres nothing in it for me.

After giving the guy some stick,in the past, I bought one NOTE bought for the forth time.

So anyway after getting home from Vines on Saturday I put it on the BIG SCREEN.

Very good it was to, THE DAKAR RACE bits top stuff how the guy filming never got hit by a very fast stream of bikes I will never know.

Lots of sceenary, a must if your off there just to get a flavour of what you will see, not sure about plastic panniers where you where though.

Not much of Tim thats not a bad thing :clap .

Only a very short close up and very sceary that is too at 4" foot x 6" foot" on the wall of my lounge.

The sound tracks are fantastic, must listen out for some of those tracks, maybe a sound track album should follow, I`d have one.

£8 inc p.p worth it, YES

Tim,

Excellent stuff :thumb

How you manage to ride so long one handed along un-made roads I do not know.

Particularly impressed with the shots of the following bike in the mirror :clap

The only problem now is having watched this DVD I want to go to Morocco again.
