Goodbye old faithful, hello young and sexy :clap

Granite grey metallic, black seat, grey side cover, ABS, heated grips, alarm, chrome exhaust, clear indicator lenses, panniers and top box. Only problem is that I have to wait three weeks to pick her up :(

lol cheers Fanum, I feel the love now :D

I guess they must be really busy, does seem a bit of a wait just to chuck in some oil and petrol

Cheers Gordon, perhaps it will get me off my fat ar$e to visit your fine public house some time :thumb

3 weeks for a bike they already have? Tell 'em to stuff it and go elsewhere!!!

Welcome to the 21st Century :thumb

Nice John and err... welcome to the wonderful world of the 12 :)

Grey is the new black good choice :thumb

PS If it is sitting on their showroom floor why do you have to wait 3 weeks for it? Sounds ridiculous to me :(

Hmm perhaps I'll query the wait time. Perhaps I picked him up wrong but the sales guy Chris just said that they had a three week lead time for new bikes to be prepped and I never really thought about it. Wizard I've been treated well at MC and I like the staff, they all seem a pretty helpful and chatty bunch, so I'd like to stick with them :)

So if it takes 3 weeks to prep how long will it take to fix it if it's goes wrong ???

3 weeks to prep a bike thats already been built !!!!

Welcome to the world of BMW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John

I had to wait about 14 days for my 1150GSA as the workshop was fully booked and there a mechanic down just so they could do the annual service, they wouldn't release the bike till it had been through the workshop.

be patient like you said there a good bunch at MC, if they could get the bike to you sooner I'm sure they could.

you'll notice a big difference between the 1100 and the 1200, I notice a huge difference between my 1100 and the 1150GSA

:clap

welcome to the site, great choice of bike (same colour scheme as mine) nothing bad to say about mine except it would be nice to ride it. won't tell you how much it cost though, could make you feel ill ;)

I sent a quick pm to the director at MC and I've just had a pm back. I've been told that Chris the sales exec was perhaps playing safe with the PDI lead time, and that if everything goes to plan I will get the bike much quicker than that, perhaps straight away :clap :clap

That's why I'm sticking with MC, they will go the distance for their customers and they listen :thumb

well of course you will get it quicker now, you have had a moan just a shame you had to in the first place. Mine broke around 750 miles it took two weeks to repair not what I would call service. I do around 25'000 miles a year I need the bike on the road not in the dealers.

I have given up with BMW, I bought a Triumph on Saturday with extras pick it up Tuesday it's not even in the shop yet.

I hope you enjoy the GS.

Enjoy the bike after the wait !!

Isn't it utter bollox how BMW charge £25 for clear indicator lenses ?

Why not just fit them as standard and if anybody wants orange lenses then they can pay the £25.

Surely you were given a load bike though? MC gave me a spanking new 1200 to use for a week when my 1100 was getting some work done.

A moan? I never had a moan. I just asked a polite question regarding the timescales for pick up. This was answered quickly, and to my satisfaction by the directors at MC. Whatever. I doubt you will get this sort of result when you need to have a moan at Triumph, which might happen sooner than you think. ;)

I hope you enjoy your new bike anyhow :)

Out of the frying pan into the fire! :D :D

What do you know that I don't ?

do you mean that I will have to put up with more than a new gearbox, replacement engine cover, new screen mounts, cutting out in the wet, and not starting when it's cold, not running full stop, no gear display on the BC, top box that falls off, (thats in one year) all this and I don't have dealer within 40 miles and when you buy a new one you have fight to get panniers and top box and then it breaks at 750 miles and takes two weeks to repair.

Plus no trip abroad this year because I had no luggage at the time when I had to do the bookings. BMW did not even respond to me

Why not visit www.bikez.com and see how any bmw rates againts anything you like to think of
