For the 1100/1150 models.

Thinking of hiring a local venue, and showing a group of people how to fix problems on the road that may crop up while on tours - i.e. Rear bevel bearing and seal replacement, Hall sensor replacement, tyre changing, hydraulic clutch slave cylinder, Alternator belt, fuel pump/filter replacement ABS reset's ( allmodels), fault finding etc etc.

It'll be a hands on event, i'll have lots of parts for you to practice on, tyres, wheels, bevels, fuel pumps etc, used parts, so it won't matter if you make any cock ups, but ideal to practise on.

I'll have to make a charge to cover the hiring of the venue, and setting it up, should have an air compresser so you won't have to re-seat the tyre beads with a foot pump ( you can try :D ).

It'll be on a Saturday. I'm just waiting to hear what dates are available. And be 4 hours duration.

Need a minimum number to make it viable - The cost will be £15 -£20 depending on numbers - Only paid up UKGSER's please .

PM me if your interested.

Thanks

Good idea Neil

shouldn't you make it a bit more realistic and get them to use a 12V compressor ?

cos if a tyre doesn't want to seat theres a few tricks to learn.- ( ratchet strap, hair conditioner etc )

Using a big fck-off compressor will seat the tyre much more easily.

Knowledge is power ...

... and as I've none of the former, count me in :rob

I'll have a 12v pump, and a footpump so they can have fun trying to seat the tyre in realistic conditions ( the compresser is for me :D ) . And will be showing just the type of thing you've suggested.

Thats the whole point of it.It will be just as it is if your stuck in the middle of nowhere. Ways and means of getting yourself back on the road, or ways of getting yourself to a destination where the job can be done.

The cost of the workshop will look very cheap, compared to when your stuck by the side of a road in a far off place, with your tour schedule/holiday disappearing in front of you.

Absolutely cracking idea - how about a tour of the shires if there's enough interest?

Count me in please, plus one other!. Great idea, cheers :thumb

Can you include changing fork seals in the middle of the desert without having to take the forks off and with only a banana for tools please! :thumb

Seriously though, might be up for a bearings, hall sensor tutorial, slave cyclinder etc tutorial.

sounds like just the job. Find out how to do things before you have to actually do them. :thumb
Will we get a diploma? :D

Hi, I'm interested, but it depends on dates, cos I'm a shift worker who works lots of weekends.
Regards, Martin.
