Robens tents (& mats & bags)

I'm fancying one of these:

(CCC at £75 at the mo, though neither are listed on their website www.gooutdoors.co.uk).

I also like the look of their self inflating mats & down bags.

Anyone got any experiences of robens gear- can't find any good reviews on the interweb thingy.

Wanting it for occassional all-year round camping, mainly in the peak district, just for me and my little boy.

Iv'e got a 3 man , looks identical but has an extra pole and more guidlines if needed , great tent but they ar'nt that quick at erecting

I have a Robens Fortress, used it for the last 3 years now and not one drop of water gets in. Any tent you buy made sure you buy it big enough for the people you need plus 1. There are always 2 of us but brought a 3 man tent as you will need extra space for the gear like helmets and leathers.

The tent takes about 5 mins to put up on my own, 3 if i get help

Robens Lemon Grey

I also have a Robens - a 2 man Lemon Grey. Had it for about 5 years, and it's been great, really easy to put up as the inner & outer are attached and just 3 poles. Lightweight, packs relatively small and with 2 porches...

Cost about £150 and was worth every penny, as it gets fairly regular use!

I'd certainly consider another Robens tent.

Thanks for all the feedback. Finally picked up the tent yesterday. Went for the 'black rock' 3 man for £75. Put it up indoors today 'just to see' - took about 12 minutes, 9 of which were spent trying to work out the correct orientation of tent / poles: this should definitely be a 3 minute job once I've got the hang of it. Initial impressions very positive - it seems a very serious piece of kit.

The thing that finally decided me was going into 'Blacks' - the stuff they were offering for this kind of price seemed nothing like as good. The robens looks like it would be quite happy halfway up a serious mountain
