There appear to be more and more prospective 1200GS owners looking at this forum.

Working on the assumption that people are more likely to report failures etc. than the positive aspects of ownership, here you go, fill your boots and tell everyone why it's a good bike!

As an Adventure owner (going to have to qualify that as 1150 Adventure soon I suppose), I can perhaps start this thread without being accused of being partisan.;)

Brilliant. It's powerful and light with great cornering and handling. Very happy on dirt roads. Standard luggage is innovative.

Gearbox is far smoother than previous models. I could think of improvements, but there's nothing in the list that changes my opinion that it's the best bike on the market. The one downside is that it doesn't look as ugly as the 1150 GSA.

Went over the mountain on TT (never got passed )& passed plenty ,then went on a run round the coast looking @ the view then went off road to get a good view of the races in a hard to get to spot on the mountain :D
Yes i love this bike

Believe it or not

Despite the probs!?!.. I am!!! ... was!!!!.... will be again soon .... Hopefully :)

Best all rounder ever!! IMHO :D :D

Best bike and best bmw i have ever owned, and this is my 3rd bmw.

Very happy with mine! It does the day-to-day riding brilliantly. Economical, comfortable, and fast enough for most situations.
For the Nürburgring I'd need something more suitable in the long run. She's fast, but she runs out of ground clearance and the tyres are a bit unsuitable (I could put on 020s)

But for day-to-day riding it's absolutely brilliant! :D :beerjug:

Thats it then you've convinced me. Anyone want to buy my 1150 so I can get a 1200. It's a good one and has lots of shiney bits on it :)

A B S O L U T E L Y happy. When I'm on the gs 12, well, 12 is the age I feel. Not a bike, a Tango teacher.
