So purchased the above in January from ( Ghostbikes.com ) and only just been on my first outing with them and they melted. So I email ghostbikes with images. Apparently its user error. Not happy with reply obviously. I have sent several email and the last one I asked for a refund. No response to my last email.

Is your exhaust standard? If so, I'd say their recommended fitment is not fit for purpose.

If you've altered the exhaust from standard, they're in the clear.

I have these panniers and used them on a trip to Italy with no problems, I do think you should have used a heat shield of some sort to protect them from the heat with the exhaust so close.

Did take them out for a trial run before my tour and all seemed ok. I did about a 100 mile run and checked for heat and frame bolts were all good. My first day on tour was 380 miles and that's when I think most of the damage happened. Had to liberate a wet towel from the hotel and put it on the bottom to protect my clothes. It melted a air pump and 3 items of clothing

Over due update. SHAD have admitted they should have not been on the configurator as a option, and a refund was given. So I have repaired the damage as best I can.
So maybe someone might be interested.
Left pannier is as new . Right pannier was burnt by exhaust. See image before and after repair. Repair not pretty but totally functional. Use SHADS configurator to make sure it fits your make/model bike. l put a stick on heat shield but have not got round to take a picture yet.
