Anyone on here tried an XL700 Transalp ? How does it compare with the F650 or 800GS (there are some good offers on new bikes out there at the moment) ?

I didn't take it out for a test ride as even though it was compared to the 800GS for me it looked a little old fashioned with it's single headlight. I know it should not be the basis for choosing a bike but it just didn't have the wow factor for me
The 700TA had just got into the showroom when I bought my Varadero last year. I didn't test ride it in the end but had a good look and a long chat with the salesman. Physically it's quite big and felt 'showroom comfy' with the usual Honda quality. I'd already read a review that said they were a bit juicy and I was really looking at the Varadero so that was as far as I took things.

The Transalp is a superb bike and with a 700 engine must be even better, great bike you can't go wrong
