Clarkes BMW

agree

Ohh I never said I'd buy a bike there
WAY TOO EXPENSIVE
eg a 52 plate Silver Adventure @ £7499 ( they have had it ages and ages)
I paid under £5k for mine with less miles (private sale)and more goodies.
No No No

Bits and pieces yes

Bikes

forget the sales, didnt come anywhere close to anyone when i wanted a price to trade in my R1200RT trade when i phoned a few weeks ago. fwiw.. NOG or bvm.:thumb

ps. got an `as new` silencer for a lot less than the new price...

I've had 3 brand new bikes from Clark's and in general they've been pretty good. Although my dealings with them of late haven't been so good. I've been waiting for my GP race can for my HP now for 5 weeks after the system I ordered came with the wrong can. Fair play to Dan, he was honest enough to tell that they had failed to post the wrong can back to the supplier in order to get the new one. It had been sat at Clark's for a couple of weeks...

Previous to the bike going in to have the race system fitted, I had informed Chris that yet again the fuel tank sender needed to be replaced. On arriving to have these things fitted, Chris denied all knowledge of our conversation on the phone regarding the tank sender...:spitfire Sometimes Chris can be a little awkward over warranty work etc, almost like he's paying for it out of his own pocket...

So, most of my dealings with Clark's have been positive. Dan is a 'top bloke' but some of his staff on the other hand, is another story....well the PDI carried out on my HP is definately another story...

yep Chris does seem to take the warranty work to heart/personally. So much so that after being told rusty crash bars on a 6 month old bike should be, quote, "cleaned with a wire brush after every winter lad" I took it into piddocks and they stuck new crash bars on without hesitation, yeah it was a recall they said, did clarkes not do it? and oh why we're there we'll put you a new front engine cover on as your is corroding! Much better!

Suffice to say my hard earned is now spent with the much more helpful piddocks in nottingham.

It makes you think how so many people can have such different views on the same people. Everyone must look for different characteristics or see the same but in a different way. As for me everytime I have met Dan I have always thought what a complete cad and a buffoon (ie a right ******)

Name calling achieves nothing much except WORSE SERVICE

MMMM as I have never had a problem here and what I think about the individual is pretty meaningless

I have worked with some complete tossers in my time and perhaps even some of them thought the same of me?:handbag

But if the job is done as said what you think of the person is NOT really relevant.:topic

Wars have started for less:eek:

To judge wether a job has been carried out correctly requires a number of influencing factors

Was the fault correctly diagnosed
Was the correct work carried out
The knowledge of the person who judges if the work was carried out correctly
for eg I would not know if a rose bush had been pruned correctly.

I once thought that some one had installed a boiler correctly but now years later I now know it was not.
I have recently had a conversation with someone who had a charging problem on his 125 Sachs , He was informed that it was a generator problem by the main dealer and as the fly wheel was stuck on the crank to purchase another engine as they might cause expensive damage getting it off!
After paying £1100 for this work to be done the fault was finaly traced to the loom. He was conned by people who new slightly more than him. This chap was very happy with the work until we pointed out what to us were quite obvious flaws in the tale. As the saying goes Ignorance is bliss.

Truth, honesty and integrity raley start wars.

dan must be doing something right hes took a bmw dealer and took it to the top 4 in uk beating willams :augie where he was the boss there aswell

Truth Honesty Integrity Always lead to WAR

Depends on who's truth your believeing........

The Truth Hurts

Honesty is not always the best policy

Integrity........ do as I say not as I do is the modern business way...nuff said

After 30 plus years in the Force I know bull s**t when I smell it:eek:
After 30yrs plus restoring classic cars and motorcycles I pretty much tell them what the fault is and only use dealers when its specialist tools/ electronics involved ( damn modern BM's):thumb

As for Wars.....
don't start me off.................:potkettle

I've started loads in my time and won them all ( yes all of them)
except the one with the wife ( I conceed that one):beerjug::clap

CLARKES remain my only option ( the Solus West Mids dealership) when I need them so best not start a war with them eh

:beerjug:
