£1.50 seems to be a lot of money

In the last couple of days since the introduction of the £1.50 parking charge in Westminster .. I have seen a drop in parking in the outside bays.

Most bays round my offices used to be packed full .. now they are half empty.

On the other hand .. the place where I used to park my bike was pretty empty .. now it is pretty packed out

Came into work this morning and they made me pay nothing

There wasn't any congestion charging for cars

I'd happily pay £1.50 to park my bike as long as they give me something to anchor my bike chain to and the means of paying was quick, painless and didn't cost more to do so.

As usual this sounds like another half-cocked plan to raise revenue and not to improve services to the customer.

Some CCTV over the bike bay wouldn't be a bad thing either - it seems to be everywhere else
