Ok here's my dilemma, I have had a small windfall and I'm wondering what to do with it, my choices are:

1) Upgrade the suspension front & rear (Ohlins), seat (Corbin) plus paint the engine, gearbox, swingarm and final drive on my 1150gsa (02 with 30k)

Or..........

2) Part ex the 1150 for a 1200gsa (possibly a later TU)?

Or..........

3) Month off work and take the 1150 on a "trip"?

What would you do?

3) Month off work and take the 1150 on a "trip" taking a tent - with camping these should both be affordable

But hey, what do I know?

I'd do the trip.

Material things come and go, good adventures are memories for a life time.

Or to put it another way... Travel is the only thing you can buy that will make you richer :thumb2

In one!

If you feel the need to 'spend' the money on something then do the trip but to a 'once in a lifetime' destination/stay in dead posh places/buy an unsuitable (cheap) bike and have some fun :)

In one Mav (I've still got a couple of spaces on this years Coast to Coast US trip:augie).

Seriously, I'd upgrade the suspension and you'll probably get some good second hand ones off here, second hand seat and tart the old girl up and get those maps out. Your 1150GSA will do the same job as a newer bike so don't change it unless you really need to :thumb2

5K

Book the ferry have a blast to italy you'll have some left to tart the 1150 when you get back home :aidan

Upgrade your suspension, as it'll make your fantastic 'lifetime' trip all the nicer......:D

You could do the suspension, seat and trip for £5K! However it has to be option 3 as a priority..

id do a trip of a lifetime……if you upgrade to the latest GSA,ace bike by the way…..in time that will be a faded memory…a trip to somewhere superb won't though….i rode across the use in 2009..memories are still fresh….

Do the trip and find out what you really need to upgrade...:thumb The main thing is not to look back on this in 6 months time and be trying to work out where the f**k the £5k went to...;)
