£9,995 too much for 07 plate?

BMW Oxford have a fully spec'd up 12 GSA, has ESA ABS, basically all the options ticked

7,000 miles on the clock and its up for £9,995, but i rekon i could get it for 9.5k

It also has the aluminum panniers

Too much?

From a quick glance I'd say the answer to your question is "yes, too much":

The only problem is I wouldn't buy a light bulb from Park Lane out of principle. They are useless: sales, service, the lot.

Haggle the price down to less than £9K. You still won't get a two year(ish) warranty as with the 09 bike but your bank balance will be healthier. Winter is coming, and the dealers will be happy to shift any stock, particularly with the 2010 models coming in soon.

thanks, I have seen quite a few very low millage 2009 bikes for about the same cash, but they don't have the panniers and ESA.

Those red 2009 ones look the dogs danglies, and its exactly the same as the demo bike. Me want!

I agree a little too expensive, best way to judge the price of the market at the moment is to keep an eye on the MCN (Motorcycle News) Ads and be patient, dealers will ask max price and there are some lovely second hand bikes coming up all the time especially at this time of year.

Speak to Phil, he's the manager there. If youre genuine he'll sort you out a good deal. I would definately think about aftersales. As someone else mentioned, you might get a bike cheaper from elsewhere but NOG are probably the best BMW dealer around IMHO.

I can't see myself using ESA that much, its only going to be me on it. I can see its usefull if you carry a pillion a lot, but other than that

I looked at the later MK2 which has ESA but thats only avalible on 08 plate

My 1200 (purchased in may) for £7200 for a 56 plate makes the 07 plate look very expensive.

Purchased from Park Lane no problems at all

I did see an 06 plate in SBW last week with 1300miles and no computer for £8250 which i thought was a bit

Shop around i dont thik the ESA is worth it (two days with a loan bike)

Did you read the description of the bike in the link? It's got ESA. Nice to have, but if it goes wrong out of warranty you're looking at a huuuuuge bill (think £1,600). It's great when it works. I wouldn't take it anywhere outside of Europe, though.

As for the missing panniers, something else to haggle over ...

My mistake then, it said it had every extra available, i assumed ESA would be on it. If thats the case it is way too much! Much rather get an 09 plate one

Just as an aside on ESA repair costs, this may be helpful. It was a price I got from WP a couple of years ago for my RT (though I never needed to take it up as the units behaved impeccably).

According to some blurb from NOG via the pipe and slippers club, they have an open weekend tomorrow and Sunday and are prepared to offer some keen deals on used bikes. Chance for a negotitaion? Nothing ventured; you can always walk away.

I had a look on the web at the bike and ESA is not mentioned in the detailed spec. so I suspect does not feature.

I bought a 1500 mile '58 plate bike for £8500 in Feb from Vines (3 months old)

No ABS and standard suspension but these are just gimmics to me.

Bought panniers 2nd hand for £300

I was in Bahnstormer yesterday afternoon and thay had an 07 with 9k and no panniers for the same porice (£9995) in good nick with a few extras. So, I think you could do a good bit better privatley, but oh that warranty is calming influence

I've an 06 GSA coming up for sale, full Metal Mule luggage, Panniers & Topbox 33'000 miles. It's been used, but is in good mechanical order, not the cleanest but looks how a GS should look, it's got a patina gained through being used. One pannier needs a new rubber seal.

Silver, ABS, BC, Muffs & 'Shite' Bag, at least 6mths extended warrantee left. Full BMW service history, Hawker battery.


IMO a proper GS ready to go take on anything you fancy.

North Oxford Garage Open Weekend
Saturday & Sunday, 12th & 13th September

NOG will be having an open weekend on the 12th and 13th September and we would like to invite all BMW Owners Club members to attend.

The whole dealership will be open 8 - 6pm on the Saturday, and 10.30 - 4pm on the Sunday, and there will be food and refreshments on both days.

We will be using the event to offer both new and used bikes at very attractive prices, particularly the Approved Used bikes. We are targeted by BMW quarterly, so we have to achieve our numbers by the end of September. On the aftersales side, again we want to move as much product as possible before the end of the quarter. James will have his lowest prices on the whole BMW Rider Equipment range, including jackets, trousers, gloves and helmets. One of the headlines is the BMW two-piece leather Race Suit, reduced from £969 to just £599.

Did you manage to find out how much the parts were though Paul?

I'm thinking of the abs pump units....the cost of having one of those fitted would probably (pure guesswork here) be around the same, £175+parts +vat, but the part is well over a grand new !!

I'm sure anyone with esa would like to know, just in case
