► Exhaust options/problems and CAT

The prices are £145.00 for the cheapest polished stainless pipe, upto £185 for a black powder coated job. They do long or stubby, in round, oval or 'tri-corner'.

I'm close to Moorespeed racing here in Poole and they've said that they're better than BlueFlame pipes, but whether they're better than Remus or not I don't know. Terry Ryan is the guy to ask about how they compare to OE. I'm 95% certain to go for a Beowulf pipe and a Power Commander in the next couple of weeks, it will be an oval pipe too so that I can build a narrower pannier frame around it. Moorespeed might be able to cut me a deal on supplying both, but they quoted me around £700 fitted and dyno'd for a full Remus system +PC5.

Even if we can get 10% discount just by asking I'll ask!

Thanks Guys well my exhaust was the pattern one that Beowulf did
anyhow I had the exhaust on since Feb
I think it sounds a lot better and a bit louder than O.E and is a lot lighter to
also the Baffle is removable
I had no problems with bike (running wise) with the Beowulf exhaust fitted
and also sits behind the Trax Luggage nicely
also comes with a good back up service
they also do a rad protector in stainless steel to which I have fitted

So - anybody else tempted by one of these?

I spoke with Debbie Little from Beowulf, there's a discount if we can put a reasonable order together..

Any takers?

Greg

Hi Greg

Definitely interested in a Beowulf can if we get a few more takers for a group discount order. I'll be picking up my new (to me) '08 F650GS on Saturday. I've emailed Beowulf to see if their F800GS can is also suitable for the 650 or whether they'd need to do any dyno work.

Cheers

Andy

Well, I couldn;t wait and bought one from the guys at Moorespeed. First impressions are good, materials excellent, finish excellent... The noise it makes is kinda 'woofy' not the 'bark' that the OE can has. It comes with a removeable baffle which does the job - but it's not in the least offensive without it, just a little less eerm 'woofy'!

However, my pipe is quite a bit longer than Terry's even though I asked them to supply the same one they fitted to his bike ..hmmmm It's actually the same length overall as the OE can, but I'm wondering if the link pipe is a little too long... Speaking of link pipes, the wider end of mine - the bit that slips over the header pipe - had been slightly ovalled, I can only assume when it had been swaged or formed. I have a reasonable set of tools and was able to re-round it in my vice, but it would have been another story if I'd been vice-less..

I'm going to talk to Debbie over the next day or so, so if anyone is keen on actually buying one let me know and I'll talk numbers with her...

Cheers

Greg

Thanks for taking the time to arrange, I'm interested, questions i have though is;

1) Anyone have a clear pic of the black SS exhaust, the round & oval one and
2) Any difference between the 380mm and 450mm ones other that the obvious size difference? Performance etc?

GS ...

Have you tried the website?? I can't see any pics of the other pipes which is a shame really, as now I've seen it I think I'd have liked the idea of black stainless... If anyone fancies a trade let me know .... lol..

My pipe is overall the same length as standard, I think the one on Terry's bike must be the shorter one as the out-spout is quite some way inboard of the indicator. Performance wise I haven't noticed any significant difference with the exception that I can feel and hear the difference in engine braking that my last software 'upgrade' gave me...Remember the increased idle speed?

I've got quite a long trip planned in July - I'm hoping my Power Commander will arrive in time ...

Greg

Well, I've just got back from a quick 60 mile wander... I have to say that at higher engine speeds, there is a noticeable difference difference between the two cans - the Beowulf seems to give it a lot more mid-range pep, and a more reactive throttle response.
Overall it gets a big fat :thumb from me!

Greg

Ok - time to bump this one...

If anyone does fancy a pipe, then let me know. I'm not getting involved with ordering/money/commission etc., just wanting to give the guys at Beowulf the heads up on potential orders etc. Hopefully witht he promise of a couple of sales they'll pony-up with a bit of a discount...

Just a yes or no will do..

Cheers

Greg

Beowulf again...

Ok time to bump properly...

If anyone's interested please let me know so that I can let the Beowulf guys know ..

Just in case you're wondering .. ahaha! I'm not on commission, taking orders, interested at all... just looking to secure a 'forum discount' ...

ps - if anyone does want a cheaper stainless pipe, then let me know cos I rather fancy one of their black ones to go with my bike's stealth/rat look. ..

Remus Titanium

Does anyone have the above can on their 800GS?

How different is the sound to the stock can? I am interested in it from the weight savings point of view, and would like the exhaust to be a little louder at idle/low revs - anything that helps cars hear me coming in London traffic is a good thing!

Would love to hear some side by side comparisons if anyone has a link.....

Haven't got the Remus, but I have the Skorpion which comes bundled with the metal mule luggage system, and it sounds awesome. A lovely bark on opening it up and a good rumble on the over-run. :)

That looks very nice :) Any sound clips (please say yes!)?

Is it easy to fit for a mechanical numpty?

No sounds clips as its just been picked uo by BMW assist:blast Chain snapped
For fitting its a doddle, just dont forget to take the rubber plug of old and put into the new one:augie..Ten minute job if you have the spring hook thingy.
