Mudflap for rearshock?

Has anyone seen / designed or fitted a rubber flap to protect the rear shock on an 800 yet?

I don't like the huggers or their prices and thats all I have seen on the net. I just want a flap like on an enduro bike to stop it getting covered in crud.

Any help appreciated. Thanks

Why not fit a Shock Sock or similar?

Some while ago I bought a pair to protect my Ohlins (on eBay IIRC). They have done the trick.

I don't think the mudslinger will do the job well enough as its just a short hugger imo (expensive). I'm going to have a go at cutting a template today and order some rubber sheet of ebay. I can't see anywhere to screw or bolt it on so will look at cable tying from the top seat tubes after running it right up next to the shock. :thumb

Just emailed the supplier asking about availabilty of BLACK ones. He replied he does have black in stock, but the quality of the printed logo to the side is not up to standard! Same price as the other colours, though :mad:

Think I'll go for a black one :D

Bondage

Got me rear shock bondage fitted yesterday;

Cheap as chips at £5 quid off of Ebay. I've put a couple of cable ties top and bottom to be a 'belt and braces' and bobs your uncle!

Just the job I reckon :thumb2

Wunderlich Inner Fender - now fitted

Fitted the 'splash guard' to the GS, takes around an hour, looks like a quality piece of kit and I hope will offer the rear shock some winter protection.
