020'S V ROAD PILOT

Fitted Road Pilots to my R1150GS some 2000 miles ago and can't fault them. They give plenty of confidence, especially in the wet as was recently experienced when doing Wales - the long way round. It peed down constantly during day two of our jaunt. :)

Can anyone give me an update on 020 vs. Pilots please? I am looking for the best tyre in the wet, road use only, 1200GS. Presently on original Tourances, but I'm told 020s and Pilots are better in the wet, and I'm not all that confident when it's wet.

020's are far better in the wet (and dry, come to that) than Tourances - I used them on both my 1150 and 1200 and loved them. The front wears much better than the Tourance as well.

But I've just fitted Pilot Roads to my 1100S and I'm blown away by them - they make the 020's feel like a pair of Deathwings by comparison with an astoundingly secure feeling in the wet. I'm a complete convert and will never use 020's again! I've no reason to belive that Pilot Roads in GS sizes would be any different - highly recommended.

A chum swears by Pilot Roads, and he rides like a loony.

However, I put them on my bike last winter and was most disappointed. They were fine in the dry but on wet roads the bike was twitchy and prone to sliding away. Roundabouts became something to be feared. I never got to trust them in the wet.

I've not used 020s on the GS but on two other bikes they've been brilliant.

I went back to 607s last spring and have just renewed for the winter. Very grippy.

Have road pilots on my r1150GS, they have done 3000 miles so far and the rear still has 5mm tread in the centre (look to last 6000 plus) the front is hardly worn at all.

They are excellent in the dry and rode back from Hull to Northumberland in the worst rain I have experienced in 25 years of motorcycling. Despite standing water on the motorways they were fantastic, unlike my Goretex gear and System 5.

A pair delivered from MYNETMOTO for £140, superb value
