Hi Guys,
just tried to fit my new alternator belt, but it is a no go.
Can anyone supply the BMW part nr for the belt?

Have you undone all the bolts holding the alternator ?????????????.

Is there air in the tyres ?????????????.

What numbers are stamped on the alternator belt 595 or 611 ( a clue, these are the circumfrence of the belt in mm). Are they the same numbers as the belt you're removing

thanks for your input,
new belt is too small so it will be 595, unfortunatley the old damaged belt has the nrs worn off.
I ordered through a bike shop giving them the year/model nr etc, I thought all twinspark models were the same???

Hi, the bmw part numbers are..

12 31 1 341 779 up to 07/03 £12.50
12 31 7 681 841 post 07/003 4PK592 £14.90

Go to your local car spare shop and buy either a 610mm x 4rib belt £3-£4 , or a 595mmx 4 rib belt £3-£4.
OE Belts are manufactured by continental. Chances are so will the belt available from your car spares shop .
