07 R1200 GS 600 mile service price

Bought my 07 R1200GS 2 weeks ago' at Park Lane in London and on delivery they gave me a piece of paper with a list of charges that apply to first service (no negotiation ... I tried):

F650GS/Dakar £110
F800S/ST £100
R1200GS £126
R1200S £152
R1200RT £135
K1200R £122
K1200S £127
K1200GT £132

is this a rip off or what?

Or a reflection on London ground rents / prices and labour rates?

Plus, you've just bought a £10 000 bike and you're not happy paying out 1% of that to make sure it'll be ok for the next 5500 miles

Not sure, this reflects London rates. I've traded in an 06 Fireblade and the first service from Honda Chiswick - the most expensive dealer in the UK - was £35 (parts only). I also own a Ducati 1098 and I had the first service mid May from Metropolis in Vauxall ... free!

Having spent closer to 12K on my bike, I expected at least a parts only first service. I've asked... they said no!

Ah... and loan bike is £25

Free with Honda
Free with Metropolis

You had to pay :spitfire . At astle in Grimsby they loan you a bike when yours in having a service and my 600 only cost 40 odd quid to boot:nenau

Come to Lincolnshire worth the ride and the cheaper servicing!:beerjug:

I agree, mine is booked in at Astles on Monday, loan bike for 24 hrs (to enable valves to be done stone cold) and only engine oil to pay for! I have had many dealings with Astles, and they are in the Premiership of customer service!! - excellent!

So it would seem that the 'free' first service for BMW bikes in the UK is over!Living here in the US for the past couple of years I have had two new BMs and moaned each time at the first service fee - but I don't feel so bad now that the UK have to pay!

My most recent first service bill was for four and a half hours, plus every little component, O ring, gasket that you can be charged for and of course $12 for 'shop supplies' giving a grand total of $410.
