My new 08 adventure is still 6 weeks away until it arrives in Australia then the bike has to be shipped to New Zealand. I have ordered the DMW aluminium panniers and top box direct from Germany as they are under half price doing it this way, but I need the part numbers for the locks and the top box rubber support for the pillion. Could anyone help with these part numbers please.

Another cracking reply post Andy.:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2 Very useful. Could you post the same for the 2008 GSA when its available. Thanks.:D

Hi, does anybody know the price of GSA panniers (side frames+boxes+locks+mounting kit) in the UK? Thanks!

Or where can I find online catalogue of BM parts including £££?

Cheers!
M.

I was told by Bahnstormer that list price on the GSA panniers is £612 (inc VAT), excluding the mounting kit.

The top box, for those that are interested, is £390 (inc VAT and mounting kit).

sorry for not doing my home work but how much of a saving is there to be had by buying from Bahnstormer to the uk bmw dealers?

Bahnstormer are a UK dealer - they're near Alton, Hampshire.

I'd be interested in finding out how much difference there is between them and a European dealer myself, to be honest.

And if you didn't get pannier racks with the bike (£195), they'll set you back £295

Hi Mate,

I am expecting my new arrival on the 12th of March , being delivered to me in Red GSA on the Gold coast.
Wish I had read this post sooner as I could have saved myself some dollars for the Zumo 550.
This is the best web site to learn the positives and negatives of the breed.
I flew across the Tasman Dec last year to hire a GS for 3 days to be sure it was all it was meant to be, what a riders heaven, 1000k of mostly winding senic roads (Coramandal etc) Ordered the bike as soon as I landed back home.

Anyway a pannier question, I read here that the Aluminum panniers are very prone to corrosion, has anyone tried having them sprayed with "Clear" for 2-3 coats. I was thinking of powdercoat black on the inside and clear on the exterior. Comments??

Darby

Ps Coming over again would love to catch up for a beer.
