I called a couple of dealerships to get a quote on a 10,000 km check-up for my 1200.

One dealership said is was 2.5 hours work, while another said it was 3.5.

This is a difference of 80 dollars.

Which one is right, or are they both wrong.

Thanks

I do my own maintanence and the 10,000 km check up should take no more than :

Max, 1 hr. to change oil and filter ( and that is waiting 45min for every single drop of old oil to come out of the engine)

GOOD TIME TO HAVE A GUINESS ! :D

Valve Job : about 45 min and that includes another Guiness :D

The rest of the stuff is "check this , check that.. but if all things being equal and you bike is running well, that's it... oh and one more hr. to write up the invoice ! :clap

Just my .02 cdn. cents on this ...

10,000km service charge

I have just had mine done by the dealer in Lyon (France.) He is always very precise but also fair and helpful. I was charged for I hour 55 minutes. (21 items on the 'official' BMW work list.)
