Thanks for all for the advice. Just to finish off this thread this is what I did about a 2018 R1200GSA. I changed my mind! I was swayed by all the online reviews and decided to just go for it and ....... I've purchased a 1250 GSA! I just can't resist the engine. Got excellent service from Barrie Robson Motorcycles in York and the bike is being delivered this coming week. markymark, I won't go into specifics as the sales guy from Barrie Robson MC is on here so I'll be discreet and just say I got a good px price for my 2010 GSA TC, slightly more than other dealers had offered and they've been super helpful throughout.
So, here we go, the next chapter, a 1250. Expensive but what the hell, you only live once and it isn't a rehearsal - can't wait!

Jimupahill...Congratulations ! The 1250 is so much better than the 1200...What color did you get ?
As for some of the history buffs here...Hitler had no beef with England and spared 100 000 english service men's lifes in Duenkirk...The favor was returned by Churchill and Roosevelt by burning 250 000 german civilians alive in Dresden on Feb 14,15 1945.Again it was not Germany starting war on England but England & France declaring war on Germany on sept. 3rd 1939 and turning a small and local conflict in Poland into WW-2...History / The lies of the victors who get to write the history books...Anyways after 75 years is about time to tell the historical truth instead of keeping lies and the following injustices alive that lead to new conflicts...And I mean everywhere in the world as we can see it today as even the elections are rigged like in some former communist countries and banana republics so that a small elite can reap the profits and they call that democracy and freedom and even free speech is even censored and a few people on top decide who can say what and not...Interesting times we live in for sure !
And for the guys talking about japanese quality you make me laugh...Japanese alloys are so soft that if you slip once the bolt is round...Paint is thin and corrosion galore...And there is nothing Super on a Tenere...The engine boring and the handling the opposite of fun.Even Yamaha agreed and put it out on the pasture...There is a reason the GS is the #1 selling bike worldwide above 1000cc ! For sure not because it is so bad or people who buy them are idiots...;) I for sure love mine like lot's of others do.It is the best bike for the road you can buy period ! Is is perfect ? No...As it could use more top-end power,2 full size bags and a tank in seize around 24 liters...Then it would be perfect :D

I saw a T-B and a white Rally one this week and as much as I love T-B , I must say I.M.H.O. the Rally looks even better ! But I still have my 2019 1250HP...As much as I love the bigger tank it is also nice to have a little lighter bike...Like in real life...You can't have it all ;)

Well, this is a Forum about BMW bikes, and a history debate is OT. However, when you make claims that 'Hitler spared 100 000 English service men's lifes in Dunkirk', then I feel the statement needs to be replied to, since it is about as far from the reality as one can imagine.

The Brits lost 68 000 soldiers during that campaign, and almost 340 000 where evacuated from Dunkirk, no thanks to the Nazis.
Poland had an Allianze with England and France. Thus, according to this agrement, an attach on Poland meant an attach on all of them. A bit the same idea that later shaped Nato. And the Poland campaign was not the first campaign by the Nazis, but it was the drop that spilled the cup.

As for the bombing of German cities, the Nazis opened the ball by bombing London every night for two months. Their sole aim was to kill civilians. So even if the bombing of the German cities later in the war was terrible, as was the nuclear drops in Japan, I have news for you. War is terrible. But when the Germans and Japs invited to dance, they had it coming...

If you ever go to Europe, I strongly advise you to look up some of the cementeries and other memorials and museums from the ww2. No need for a book to see the proof. And take a trip to Poland. There are still lots of places you can be reminded of the 'friendly' visit of the Nazis and the Soviets.

I understand you are not well educated on history, but I find it rather offensive to read such an ignorant twist of the truth.
 
Knut you obviously believe the official stories written by the victors...Hitler did not invade poland for no reason...Poles killed poles who had been germans until 1918 in parts of poland that had been germany until 1918.He tried to end the killing and find a peaceful solution in his 16 points program that was answered by poland with the Bromberg blood sunday/killing of Thousands of civillians and the general call to arms in march 1939...Parts that are kindley left out of the the official history writings as also that it was England & France that attacked and declared war on Germany and not the other way around.Of course the official History writing say Hitlers invasion of poland was the reason for WW-2 but Roosevelt and Churchill had obviously no problem supporting Stalin who had done the same and still occupying until today what was poland as also no problem to be allied with a country that had killed 60 million of their own...Mostly white christian people who did not want to be marxist-commies...History - The lies of the victors and the same lies go on until today...Yes Hitler was a bad man giving jobs to people instead of putting people in debt-slavery.Jobs for all instead of profits for a few what a bad and alien concept...:D Democracy as todays dictatorship of the 1% on both sides of the atlantic is so much better...LOL And the lies go on so the people stay poor and unemployed and the 1% gets even richer because too much is still not enough as we can see everyday in our great western democracys with a fat elite and millions un- or underemployed or homeless living on the streets or in their cars...Maybe not in Norway a country with few people and lots of natural resources as oil that brings in lots of cash ! Knut I'm everything but uneducated and love the truth...But today the official truth is all lies every day 24/7 so the elite can stay in power for a few more years until everything comes crashing down like the Soviet Union did 30 years ago...Capitalism / Democracy is just as evil and vicious as communism and ultimately will fail too ! Because both systems serve/benefit only a small elite...For the rest it's bread & games and daily lies & propaganda...Even in the U.S. free speech is history and a small elite censors and dictates what can be said...In countries like Germany you can be even locked up for free speech...:mad: Sad but true and these systems call themselves free societies...:D Free as you believe the daily lies...;)

To answer the last question...I'm a truth seeker.You can only denie what really happened ! Germany is so bad that they put people behind bars who don't believe or do historical research on that matter...What are they afraid of ? The truth does not need laws or threats of prison it can stand of it's own and defend itself...That is all I will say on that matter because we lost our freedom and free speech when even the president of the U.S. gets censored nowadays like in any other dictatorship where only a small elite rules and decides what can be said and who is allowed to say what or not...:(

And all that so a small elite can rule over the stupid masses and enrich themselves even more...:mad:

Or in case of history and who gets to write history and what is taught in the schools / universities The Lies of the Victors who take the spoil$$$...Same as it ever was. And yes Hitler was a bad man - How dare to put jobs that paid enough so that the mothers could stay home to raise the offspring with benefits we don't even dare to dream about today over profits for a few.Not to mention all the billion$$$ lost pay cancelling all the interest bearing debt payments and making sure that every citizen had a mortgage-free house,no student loans,a good pension and universal healthcare...How evil :D

Germany set a very bad example so they had to be bombed back to ashes...Today they are good people and they are poor and unemployed or work low paying jobs with mediocre benefits and pay billion$$$ of interest to the elite/banksters like the rest of us...
 
I will say one more thing and that we live in interesting times where the lies after 75 long years finally start to crumble and hopefully something new and better will emerge...On both sides of the Atlantic after Trump got removed from office (not by the majority of the people but by mail in fraud and a few IT guys tampering with the computers) as also England leaving the EU Bankster rule...Not to mention Palestine where Apartheid and Genocide happens ever since 1948...Interesting times for sure ! And how volatile the system is and how fed up people are with the daily lies and system that only works for the few we could see on jan 6th.
