Took bike for MOT earlier. 1/2 mile from bike shop, right hand indicators pack up:blast

Get there, left indicator, all normal. Right hand indicator, no indicators, electrical noise under tank like the relay is doing something.............. other than working the indicators.

Bike passes MOT:D

Get home multimeter out, indicator switchgear, less then 3 years old, spray it, no improvement.

hazard lights all work.

Playing with faulty indicators, noise from under tank changes to a high pitch whine:eek:

Now the left hand indicators work, but, the repeater on the dash doesn't!

Turn ignition off, back on, indicators now work as normal.

This was the first ride after I used the Waxoyl under the tank and on the frame tubes, can there be a link between the two?

Did some research on other motoring forums, would seem to be a short somewhere on the right hand side. I'll see how it goes.

Check the two connector blocks on the right hand side near the headstock, think it is normally a red one with a black one underneath. Clean them with some contact spray and make sure they are connected fully again pushing the wires at the back towards the connectors.

I have a similar problem and every so often the wiring just rattle loose and need to push them back. Sometimes when I put the indicator on it feels like a dead short as it cuts out for a second, never been able to find the bloody short in the wiring and it comes and goes :blast
