Would I be disappointed, would I look at every 1190 and think...........:blast

It's £3k cheaper though and simpler........

Umm.....

Quick sniff around the web seems to highlight a fact that I can get a 2014 1190R for the price of a new 1050.. I'm not snobby about having it brand-new, so it looks like conundrum has been solved........

Yes I've recently bought one. Would you be disappointed? I can't answer that for you but I'm not.

It's light and nimble, handles well and is relatively simple. MPG is in the 50's and all of the power is usable. I can get my feet on the floor and I'm a short arse.

As for the pricing, well I bought second hand with loads of extras on it saving thousands of pounds. Do I secretly wish I had bought a 1190? No.

I think it depends on what type of riding you do.
Fully loaded two up european trips, I think the 1190 may be better.

If you want it for everday hooning and spent a lot of time on the back roads, then the 1050 is a much better bike IMHO.

I had one for a couple of days whilst my bike was in for service, took it back then they insisted on me taking out the 1190 Adventure for a couple of hours.

Much prefered the 1050, and will be aquiring one early next year.

Nice one :)

Will you still keep the Guzzi?

i very rarely use the extra power of the 1190 ie. revving over about 6.5K, but i'm not giving up the option :green gri

Same here if I'm honest - one year on though I still giggle like a twat on the occasions that I do :D

You don't half need to keep half an eye on the shift light though when you do, boy it revs out quick

Andres

oh yes, the top end of the rev range goes by a lot quicker than it does lower down

I've got one and I love it i'm doing a 1200 mile long weekend on it soon down to Germany i'll let you know how it goes.

Im using the top end daily this week and next. I'm doing med cover for the Classic TT/Manx GP.
I WILL stay with the course open car. :D
It's managed 135 up the mountain so far but it's almost started to slap, so I've had to back off. Had a tweak of the suspension today tho so see what happens tomorrow. Might have to take the top box off. :augie

I see you've already changed the seat

After a few longer days in the saddle I'm looking at changing a couple of things mainly the seat and the screen.

So please any recommendations for the seat and screen.
As for the screen I don't know if the 1190 R may be better. I'm happy to get my helmet in clean air so to speak. But I need to stop the bufferting one way or another.

What seat and screen has long john used and why?

Looking great today, when you popped around for a cuppa:thumby:

The screen is MRA Vario Screen and I think its brill no buffeting just a nice breeze brought off Davy on here, the seats I've forgot what make they are were off here too but I've only done 120 mile trip with that so cant comment to much on that at moment.

Both second hand off 1190's.

Cheers Longjohn.
I'll keep my eyes out in the For Sale section.
