IM getting an 1100 GS soon. However the clutch is slipping during harsh accelaration, as far as im aware it has been adjusted to the max, what sort of a job is it to replace it, never done one on a boxer before, any hints and tips would be useful, are there any other problems associated with the clutch on this model, Cheers Daz:D

Welcome Dazco. First you need to acquaint yerself with the search tab at the top of the page. Nip in there and do a search and you'll find a lot of info about this topic. In a nutshell - as I understand it - it's time consuming but not technically very difficult. You just have to be methodical and take lots of the bike apart to reach the clutch then try and get it all back together.

Last pne I know who did his clutch was Maverick - maybe drop Steptoe a note if you want someone to do it for you. Rumour has it he won't charge you an arm and a leg ....but that's just a rumour ;)

If you ask really nicely and promise to become a site sponsor I'll let you know where you can download a full BMW workshop manual for the 1100 .... you may need it when you start on your clutch.

- click at the top of the page to find out more - you know it makes sense ;)
