Here's my 850 fresh out of the garage after a (mainly cosmetic) winter refresh. Still a few bits to do (mirror stems, torque arm) but nearly there. Still going strong after 94k miles and due to cover another 3.5k miles riding to Jerez and back (the scenic way) at the end of the month.

Pity the new paint is flaking off the exhaust - I had to paint it as I just couldn't get the finish back on the 'stainless'. Ironic name, really....

How many 850GS's in Granada Dakar colours ?

Following on from this thread.

Some of the last 1100 GS's to roll off the production line were the limited edition Granada Dakar models. Only 200 were produced of which 37 were destined for the UK.

Here is a link to pictures of my 850 GS. http://s828.photobucket.com/albums/zz203/bumblebeemer/bmw%20850gs/

Only 26,000 miles and a real beauty if I may say so !

Is Paul G's quote referring to how many 1100's and 850's were built in the Granada Dakar colours or just the 1100's ? I am trying to find out how many 850's were built in this colour and how many were imported to the UK.

Many thanks.

Great to see a thread on the 99's! :beer jug:

Thanks for the info Paul G - if 200 were produced then they're scarcer than the 98 Anniversary models

Yeti on ADVrider sent me this link after I'd started a thread there for the 1998 75th Anniversary's and 1999 Special Editions - figured it might be good to conglomerate pics and info on the bikes.

So you guys please post a pic of your 99's in that thread :thumb2

Responsibility Taken On

Pleased to report I have purchased from it's 2nd owner this very nice R1100 GS GD that comes with the worlds largest and most complete service history ever seen on these pages!

I suspect a few users of this site will know who the first owner was :thumby:

Easter Sunday I had a gentle bimble around the local back lanes and can confirm this is a really fine machine that rides nicely with the Ohlins giving a smooth but controlled ride. Anybody looking for a 2013 WC:augie

What a beautiful looking bike.
Previous owners must really have cherished her.
Nice to see the portfolio present just as well you've got the panniers on to carry it about for reference.
All you need now is a tank bag and a tail pack.
