1100 gs

1100's are good for the hill climbs, and back road sweepers, the lower gearing helps through towns a little villages...
only thing i noticed the 1150 had the better economy on fuel with the extra gear.. slightly better on long hauls than the 1100...

two bikes running on same road conditions over 4500 miles showed up the differences.

ugg.

My 1100gs is the 12th motorbike i have owned in 30 years of biking and it is the best all rounder by far-i love it

my 1100 .....one of the best allrounders you could have:clap

does touring, does gentle off road (it is 10 years old!) does quite a few sports bikes (and the riders do look embarrassed as the old barge overtakes them, panniers top box and all!!):)

its the longest I have owned a bike for and the oldest bike ever owned....and I just cant see it ever been sold......

pity they dont make proper GS's anymore, isnt it?:augie

Next time I buy a big GS it'll be an 1100.

Sounds like you got a good deal :thumb2.

You've all made me feel better!
I bought my R1100GS in April-'P' reg, 39k.
Really love riding it, it replaces an R850GS that a dear lady car driver wrote off driving into the back of me while stationery in March.
I've just had to spend 1k getting it up to scratch- bearings etc. at RGM Croston- felt a right tw-t- things wrong with it that if I knew more, I should have spotted before buying!!!!!!!!
Anyway, still other bits to be spent over winter to get it right, but then I'm hoping that all will be well for years & years.........
Great bike though!
My wife even likes going on it now!

Bin the alarm

Bin the alarm m8 then keep the bike for..........ever........and ever. You will get your money back anyday but will probably make money on it. The 11's always seem to hold their value and even increase with TLC and ad-ons.

Best bike in the world.............definately.

Old 11's never die:Motomartin:Motomartin:illbe:monkeypiz
