I forgot to add, that if one does go swimming in that part of the world, there are Crocodiles, specifically, Saltwater Crocodiles. Four to six metre ones do a fair amount of livestock removal up the top end during the dry, mostly Cattle and/or Water Buffalo.
They also inhabit the freshwater rivers, as do sharks.
Recently I watched a programme which was about things that eat humans.
Lions, Tigers and such, remove about 1 human a day in southern Africa. However, Aligators in Florida remove about 110 a year in that state alone. Heavens knows how many others disappear for the rest of the American continents.
In Australia the Crocodiles only get about ½ a dozen a year due to the sparse population coverage of humans but of that lot, the majority are tourists.
The tourist brochures don't say too much about this problem as it would scare off a few of them.
