A couple of questions from a new BM owner, I want to replace the oil in the engine, so will go with a semi 10 / 40, any one recommend a good oil ?.

I also want to change the rear wheel drive and gear box, what does any one recommend as a good replacement.

And finaly, I am looking at fitting a set of the Nippy Norman jump start leads ?. Do you need to put an anti spike device in the line, what with all the electrics on the bike I am a little worried about burning something out ?.

Any and all information greatly recived.

Have a hunt around some of the lengthy oil threads on here for further thoughts on oil. A 20/50 of the correct SF (or better) spec is considered to the best option. Makes them quieter.

For gearbox and final drive, make sure you get a fully-synthetic GL5 75/90. It makes a big difference to the gearchange quality, IMO.

Use 20/50 mineral or semi-synthetic if you're rich.SF/SG spec onwards.

75/90 gearoil for final drive/gearbox.Must be GL5 spec.
