1100 running rough.

ive noticed that my GS is idiling badly sometimes fast sometimes very slow. it will often cut out and it seems to be more often when its warm. any tips where to look?

Inlet air leaks? dirty fuel filter?

have a look at the vacuum pipe take off on the inlet stubbs the rubber caps can perish and let air in these are changed normally every service by the main stealership

oddly enough i was just telling someone that it felt like a vacuum leak.. whats an inlet stub? can you direct me to the right area? and will a tube used like a stethoscope hear the leak like i would do with a car?

for inlet stub read throttle body if you have a look at the stickey 1100 parts diagram go to throttle body and it is part no 14

It may need the TBs balancing or the CO2 setting (need a CO2 meter for that though.

If you do the general service yourself it will not cost you much to get bikes valves cleared, co2 adjusted along with idle speed etc by bmw. The gaskets that lead from the front of the throttle bodies to to cylinder perish and are worth checking. About @20 from Motorworks...
