Takikng the sump guard off to change the oil and filter should the 2 mounts on the right side be in one piece or are the rubber blocks normally just sat in there. if there meant to be a one piece cotton real how on earth do you get the bit left in the casing out or is it easier just to glue em back together

4 bolts undo and the sump plate drops down -the rubber blocks stay on the sump ( screwed in) , they act as absorbers if anything hits the sump, inbetween the sump and sumpguard .

Have yours broken away, and still attached to the sump ??

Thats because whichever feck wit last had the sump off didn't grease the studs.

Cheap as chips to replace (If you can get the stud out), got mine from Motorworks IIRC :thumb

Yeah 2 have broke away so I better order a couple in he morning, if I can get the old bits out.

Glue,glue,glue?

My 11 has every threads stuffed because the last owner was a "Good Fitter" and used Locktite on every F...en thread! Hence now 3 Heliciols in the Bike. BM cert. mechanic stated that BM doesn't recomend thread Glue of any type? Well?? I don't know if I agree but I wont go there?
Its up to you? Think about it before you glue? Greased threads Good idea? Oil, grease, copper coat in the right areas? Well just think about it? Do you know how to Heliciol (Thread Replace)? BIGJim. Tasmania.:beerjug:

I was saying superglue to bond the rubber to the metal where it had torn off. ( loctite 407 for instance )

and normal thread loctite shouldn't stuff up threads :nenau

Oh I guess...

I had a panic ? Poor old 1100 had a Rear R.H.side engine bolt chewed out the L.H. internal barrel Bolt chewed out both with acid type damage and you guessed it the Famous Blue Glue, traces up the thread. I just was a bit worried and a bit Turned off by the mention of glue?? Sorry. Glue the Rubber on, oh? Thats ok. Glue is good. That nice smelly one man? Oh you have to have a laugh every now and then? I glued a cut thumb back together with Supa Glue. Works great. Had to go to Casualty Dept. to get the First Aid Kit cut off the other hands Fingers? But the Thumb was fine. :nenau
