i've never seen any modern sliders wear.
forks have a chrome plate that is 1/2 a thou or so thick - so any wear will show as worn chrome.
IF there is any wear it'll be in the bushes - they are a sacrificial wear part. - but you said you'd replaced them.
You're barking up the wrong tree, in the wrong neck of the woods, i'm sure.
Well, slider wear seems improbable to me as well. The thing is that, when replacing the slider internals, i.e. bronze bush and four plastic 'cannelloni' pipes per leg, the bronze bush was ok when it comes to fitment (both the old and the new) but the canellonis were both an easy fit in the slider (i.e. they, alone, had a play in the slider) and an extra easy fit round the stanchion. I don't know if anyone has replaces those pipes, but they have one, maybe two millimeters larger Internal Diameter than the stanchions external diameter. This was the case with both the old ones and the new ones (no noticeable wear). And, of course, chrome plates stanchions are, indeed, extremely difficult to wear. So, given the play between the stanchions and pipes and between pipes and slider, it seems reasonable that I have the flexes I have.
This sums up to:
1. 1100's have, by design, these flexes
2. I have bought wrong replacement pipes, but the bike also had wrong pipes to begin with...
Dear Kaister, I have considered the fact to imagine the whole thing, that's why I did the "check-your-1100-flexes" request. But, you are probably right, I have to borrow a front shock, then a rear, and, finally, change tires...(rear end seems fine)
This whole thing is really annoying for me, and, it's probably starting to get annoying for all of you as well...sorry guys.
