How much lighter is the 1100 than the 1150?

More to the point perhaps, how lighter does it feel? Especially pushing it around.

I'm asking because I'm moving house and I need to get an idea of whether an 1100 is manageable in a relatively confined space, especially as I commute by bike whenever possible.

No idea about the weight difference, but where abouts in Lancs are you? I've got an 1100, I might be able to nip down so you could have a push/pull about with it to try...

1100 - 540 lb

1150 - 549 lb

Both lardy. both easy enough to push round - on the flat. slopes are a bit more hard work.

My son has an 1100, there's no noticeable difference between it and my 1150 as far as weight goes...

They are virtually the same bike, they share so many components there will be bugger all difference :thumb2

Dunno what size your confined space is, but if it's any help, the bloke I bought mine off used to move it down a narrow (six inch spare each side) path, then get it around a right-angled bend that an FJ1200 would probably not go round.

They are both bleedin heavy it makes your ring piece pout if you pick one off the floor:eek:

You mean weight wise or style or... something else...:nenau
Speed, acceleration, torque? Maybe there's very little in it, and I guess the handling's the same? I've got a '03 1150 and love it, but have never ridden an 1100.

I had an 03 1150 and now have a 98 1100.

The 1100 definitely feels lighter to me, but when I checked it out some time ago I remember there was next to no difference on paper (and motobiker confirms above it's only 9lb ). It's still heavy to move around, but the turning circle is decent (no idea if different to the 1150), so it's manageable.

My 1150 had H&B engine bars on and the 1100 doesn't - makes a big difference to the width, although almost none to the weight.
