Morning,

On the 1st of June I will be leaving the UK for 6 months and this means my 99 1100gs will see zero action.. What are the steps to take mainly regarding the fuel system to make sure on my return the bike is still in working order?.. I have had my fair share of carb strips on previous bikes and I am more than happy to avoid such things regarding cleaning injectors and the like if there are a few basic steps to avoid the fuel turning to varnish etc..

I have given it a very good clean and covered it in ACF50 as I would normally, all fluids are new anyway (Engine oil,Gearbox, drive etc) Would I be correct in thinking to fill the tank right up with fresh fuel then add fuel stabilizer and run through for 10 minutes?.. Then take battery off give it a charge and store at room temp.

Regards

Sounds like more than enough. I typically park my 1150 up for 3 or 4 months through winter, I try to have the tank fairly full, park it and put the battery on an optimate (because of the alarm...), takes a couple of extra seconds to crank up in the spring and the fast idle is a bit rougher than normal for a few more seconds.
