This part is standard on late 1150's but not on earlly 1150's or any 1100's

May save you accessing the battery in a hurry and the hassle that involves

Had a GS for 12 years now.. and never had to either bump or jump start either of them....

If I did.. then there would be a fault.. and I'ld rather fix that.

Same here...................but if I needed it...............simply attaching a power starter to those plugs would be easier than taking the tank off or swinging it upwards

Obviously I'm no expert... but cant you take the cover off (a 1 minute job) and attach the leads directly?

Fitted mine yesterday . no problems . even have a light set of cables , so i should not get stuck ,unless there is no batteries around to jump from .

I recently installed the jump post kit on my 1100GS - and consider it a worthwhile addition. Makes it easy to use any charger in an emergency - or a jump pack.

The kit is available from Motorworks - quite cheap.

I have one fitted to my bike, handy for jumpstarting (other vehicles)
I did not bother with the neg terminal, I just use a foortest.

Not very helpful if your battery dies and you can't start it.

A crocodile clip that is attached to your jump leads.

That's the simplest and cheapest solution.

But of course it doesn't look so "hard".

I`ve got one on my 1100. I always thought it was a standard 12v supply for powering heated jackjets etc. I use mine to plug optimate in.

Are you sure that's not the powerlet type plug? If you have the starter thingie, you should have two plugs down there

Oh.. the modification does interest me.. However as I said.. 12 years and this has never been a problem. So.. was curious to know if there was a work-around that didn't involve spending money, modifying (cutting holes in) the starter motor cover and generally faffing about.

just undo one bolt and take it off... attach the jump leads and voila.

That's the simplest and cheapest solution.

But of course it doesn't look so "hard".

Thats all I need to know.
