1. Some years ago, an innovator helped me drill and fit the screw in cruise control from the airhead handlebar throttle body into the same on my 1100GS. I have long lost this innovators name and address, does anyone know if this converstion is still available?

2. The plastic pillion seat lock - you know - that thing that keeps breaking, does anyone know of an alternative?(bungies leave an uncomfortable indentation on my pillions soft area).

Seat Lock:

When mine broke (plastic lugs) I cut off the broken bits and made a cradle like arrangement out of 1.5mm stainless sheet and screwed it to the main lock with self tappers - been fine for the last year.

Seat lock.

Jap and German bikes in London cable tied the broken bit to the frame. It works fine with a bit of jiggling and without any metal bashing! :thumb

I've seen people using large O rings for cruise controls - seems to work ok.
A Caterpillar Tractor O-ring fits fine and the part number is 8M-4991... where's me anorack :D:D

BMW do a cruise screw for about £28 for the 1100gs, the screw comes with a new housing bit that replaces the bit u already have.
Easy to fit but if you have heated grips you have to take tank off to unplug the right one and thread it through the new housing.
